Gorging.

Just a note to new players.
You will hear much talk from players within the game about how many gorges should be on at any given time.
Usually, it is in the form of:
"GET OFF GORGE WE DON'T NEED TWO GORGES"
Forget what you hear and just follow these simply guidelines that work well in public games.
Starting off with one gorge.
Stay with one gorge until around the time when the second hive will or is going up.
At this point (especially on large maps), two gorges are especially useful and are much more important than the "extra" res which would accumulate had there been only one gorge.
Give the game time, it takes a long time to learn.
Hopefully the forum moderator, Talesin, will not try and be ***Nuked.*** and delete this post as well.
*No, I'll just selectively delete the portions which are rude, insulting, or otherwise against the forum rules.*
*No, you will accept my opinion of you. I really do not care what the forum rules are. The truth is the truth. Hurts... does it not?*
Next time you decide to use these boards to compare someone - anyone - to the biggest monster in history, you'll be banned. If you had the slightest idea of what you were talking about, you'd refrain from tainting the word 'truth' with this.

Then again, since the discussions forum was closed... there's no way I can forsee to "get away with it".

But getting back on topic, under the 1.04 res rules, consider two gorges to be an absolute maximum. In the beginning, there should be one gorge, putting up towers, until the alien team as between three and five. At this time, the second gorge gestates. One gorge saves up RP for the second hive, while the other one builds three DCs, defenses for both hives, and additional res towers. When the second hive is up, if the third hive is not secured, both gorges should work on fortifying and building that hive in the same manner. One builds, the other saves. If this is not the case, one gorge continues to fortify and build res nodes, while the other one either gestates back to skulk, or activly attacks or supports offensives of marine positions as battle gorge.
This is the best-case scenario for a public game, but it usually doesn't happen this way.
