It's short for the Hitch Hiker's Guide To The Galaxy. It's a must-read if you like sci-fi and/or humor books.

GAH! Someone who hasn't read HHGTTG!! INFIDEL!

Great book, utterly pointless and stupid, but pointless and stupid like Monty Python is pointless and stupid, the end result being it's incredibly funny.

But don't worry about what's gonna happen in several billion years, we'll have left the planet by then, maybe even the galaxy or universe.v If you really think about how long it took us to get from the wright brothers testing their first plane, to the Mercury and Gemini flights of the space program, you can see that we've crossed titanic chasms in science and technology in only 70 years. Imagine what the next 70 years will bring? Who knows, we may see wonders like Artificial Intelligence or interstellar travel or the creation of replicators (a la Star Trek) utilizing nanotechnology in our lifetimes.

I forget what the required mass of a supernova is... I left my Astrophysics textbook at home. But now you've made me curious.
