<div class="IPBDescription">and how to obtain it</div> Ive spent many a day of my live telling and showing all the glorys of leap. Ive writen so much about how to leap effectively that i have gotten sick of writing and i now would like for me to be able to show you the damage potential of leap. To start you off leap does around 300 damage per leap if you hav an fps of 100. 2 leaps kills a fully upgraded ha marine. Now, i know from experiance that telling you how leap works will not help you learn how to do it. I want to show you.

anyone who wants me to show them the incredible power of leap please post on here and tell me what servers you usualy get on so that i can show you how to leap effectivly. It would be preferable if somone could let me use there server for jsut a little bit so that i can teach everyone who want to know.

    im sorry if you have low fps...... but you wont be able to do as much damage because leap damage is tied to fps. I get 85 fps beacuse i have vertical sync enabled. Get a new comp or a new graphics card so that you can get leap kills to your hearts content.

    o yeah and you can still come to learn so that you too can teach others to pwn with leap!

    That sounds interesting, but my fps is too low for that.
    It is between 15-100 <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo--> (15 when there is lots of action and 100 in empty room)

    Oh and iam not sure is that so usefull skill to learn, cuz in 1.1 that is not possible....

    getting leap kills takes alot of skill. Its not like fade acid rocket or like using an onos. you have to have fast reflexes, know how to lead, and be patient and/or very sneaky.

    Paq- Yes, it will work in 1.1 because theres no other way to code it. why would you not want it to work in 1.1?

    after hive 2 leap is the only skill i use to get kills. and i average around 13-14 kills per game with leap.

    Eh? Why i wouldn't wan't it to work in 1.1?
    You said that you can kill a HA marine with two leaps....

    It's almost the same that a light marine could be able to take out onos...

    Paq YOU become good with leap and understand when it works and when it doesnt THEN and only then can you come back here with any athority at all and say that leap is unbalanced. Untill then you have no basis for any kind of opinion. Its like saying paracite killed me so it is unblanced!!!!!! /rage

    Well maybe you are right, but if it reguires 100 fps, i will never got it to work and i can't never become good at it...
    This is just another thing which favors fast computer user's....so lame

    theres no way that they could possibly code leap any differnt. so there is no way leap could be changed so that it doesnt do alot of damage if used skillfully. I seriously dought that leap will change.

    Chances are that all of the FPS-dependant abilities have the same root cause. If Flayra hits it the the debugging stick, all will be well.

    i ment that it wont change in effect to its damage or effectiveness at killing. im shure that things will be changed so that it is like everyone has an fps of 100.

    Yes, I hope in 1.1 the NS server will detect the client in the game with the lowest FPS, and set all clients to that FPS. That way it will all be fair! And also, the richer players will need to send checks to the poorer ones to ensure that everything is all equal.

    One more question. Does fps affect to onos charge as well?
    I mean, higher fps --> more damage?

    What could you possibly be basing this on?

    Anyway, it doesn't *matter* how much skill it takes to kill with leap. Leap is not meant to be something to kill with - it's meant to be something you use to dodge gunfire and get from A to B very very quickly. It also takes skill to kill someone with parasite, but there isn't any point either.

    Even at 60fps it will still kill marines VERY quickly.

    My take on it is that in 1.1 the FPS dependence will be fixed, and thus charge, leap, jp thrust, build speed etc will all have the INTENDED values (I'm assuming the ~60 or 72 fps current values?). This is not the official line, because I'm not an official of the game, but it is what I understand from extensive reading.

    Leap (with the ***claw slash*** animation we remember) is clearly meant to damage as well as make you travel faster. There are two main methods to leap killing: leap into someone and kill them (difficult in open areas, easy when you can trap them against something or in a vent), or leap towards someone and switch to bite. The leap damage still occurs and often you'll only need one bite to kill them.

    BTW to clarify if you can't be bothered to read my <a href='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?act=ST&f=21&t=27435' target='_blank'>VERY EXTENSIVE GUIDE ON LEAPING</a>, leap does 4 damage per "tick". The number of "ticks" is dependent on FPS.

    If you also feel aggrieved at being stuck at 60fps or 30fps, or if you use win2k or winXP (regardless of your fps), you should DEFINITELY READ <a href='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?act=ST&f=1&t=28768' target='_blank'>ROOB'S COMPLETE VSYNC/FPS GUIDE</a>, because you may be damaging your eyes AND getting less than ideal performance from your machine too.

    I've read the guide yet still cant quite get the desired affect. Not even on buildings which should be easier since they are stationary.

    using ONLY leap, with my fps at an average of 35.

    even if you have low fps, practise with leap. nightcrawler and those others who use it know its power, and how damaging it is if used correctly.

    leap is really hard to master. i get very rare leap kills but thats because when a rine is shooting me i use leap to go behind him and then bite him in the *** <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> its the best as long as they dont kill you as your leaping with HMG or something

    Nighty can kick some leapy booty, but thats cus his fps, my fps is lower, though i always found it easy to hit with leap, and have learned to increase leap damage by crouching and hiting them low aiming up (you climb there body with ur leap), it takes 2 or 3 of these for me to kill a LM (probly fuly upgraded armor, but i dont know) normaly i leap then bit, or leap randomly, run and repeat for harasment <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
