OK, first off, if you have never played ninjafall before, well let me tell you the two sides of the marine base where the Rt's are are weldable, sealing you off from them. OK, now, lets say the marines have welded themselves in. Rather than F4'ing, you could rather wait til' the second hive, then go fade. Now, walk up to the middle of the clear glass, and simply fire acid rockets. It shouldn't be stopped by the weldable glass stuff. I did that this morning, it was so funny...they had no way to fight back, since I wasn't actually inside there with them. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Please don't post on maps that take away from the atmosphere of NS, I have enjoyed ninjafall merely for the starting comedic value of the map, but, it seriously removes from the atmosphere of NS.

    Well, at least it was a productive tip. Anyone who had not seen the map before might not figure that the marines are vulnerable as such, or they might be the marines who weld themselves screwed.

    But yes, it's a gimick map. Once you learn the gimick (play the map once, maybe twice), it gets old. If HL tries to autodownload the map for you, I suggest you cancel. It's not worth the wait.

    i use the "fun maps" when i get mad at my comp (mainly my router) i just use those to have some fun in and you shouldnt thinking it as of "taking away from the atmosphere" more like "altering the atmosphere for that map" one map wont make the whole atmosphere in NS change at once

    I use fun maps to train on my fighting. On seige is were i learned to bite jps out of the air so incredibly easily.

    You will be amazed at the looks and yells you get from the marines when they realize that they have welded a skulk in with 3 res nodes, 1 arms lab, 1 tfac, 1 proto, and 1 obs and no marines. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Another tip...jump down with ze Fade...then blink just before you hit the ground...that way you can land without hurting yourself(and die as a result =)

    A gorge can ride down on babblers to ...if hes fast

    hmmm, a little harsh today, aren't we? fun maps have their place. It's like saying fy_iceworld takes away from CS. In reality it doesn't, it just provides a break from the seriousness and the tediousness of the official maps

    The reason for the fade thing working, it that the rocket actually forms IN FRONT of the fade. If the matierial (wall, glass, etc) is thin enough, then you shouldn't have any trouble getting a bile bomb or acid rocket through

    I believe the original maps take away from CS. CS simply sucks without the custom maps. CS is one of the funniest HL deathmatch variations. Tho The Specialists is a better variation.

    Anyway, ninjafall is a rather funny map. I have never heard a gorge going down on that map <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

    You can fit most of the buildings right under the door. Only a little sticks out.

    -as a fade, all you have to do is blink _down_. AKA jump up off your platform, aim at the water making sure there's no platform under you to hinder it, and blink. You should blink straight towards the marine base. I was not injured at all, however I did get stuck halfway in and out where their res node is (below the command center)

    -If you want to have lots of fun, other than the standard skulk bombing, get a skulk to stand in a corner under the water and drop down on top of him as a gorge. This way your under the water area, and the skulk is holding you up so you don't fall. Drop babblers freely....

    Most of the tricks have been found. Its a nice map to visit, but wouldn't want it in the rotation!

    I played this map for the first time last night and honestly, even for a fun map, its not good. Oh, and the shooting acid rockets thru walls is an exploit kthx.

    with the huge letters and all, and you can jump down as fade/gorge/onos/ whatever. becuase you can land in the middle which is big huge water thingy...

    When I first played this map, it reminded me of another map that in the same way the aliens are on top and marines are on the bottom. Anyways, this map is pretty funny because if you have an orgranized skulk rush early then it is already over...plus it takes a while to build an arms lab then a proto lab to get jps...

    However I noticed that sometime even when the marines get enough money for jps, hmgs, and greanades,....sometimes the jetpacks malfunction and runs out of gas before a marine gets to the top. I noticed this several times and I will occasionally see marines dropping like flys to their death... This also happens to me too <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo--> Maybe they should call this map Ns_marinefall <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

    On ninja fall, it works well to get sensory first. Have the whole team get cloak, and as always attack at the same time, but instead of fighting till your dead have 1 skulk sneak into the rez rooms admist the chaos and hide until the marines weld the rez shut. Just make sure that you dont attack the rez until the marines close you in with them to do your work.

    If you do it right, and with a little luck, by the time the marines get Jp's and Hmg's they wont have the rez to buy them in bulk.

    If the marines play it safe and dont weld the rez you might be able to evolve into OWNos in the rez area. It may not be a good strategy, but it is as funny as hell when an onos materializes out of no where. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

    thats becuase there FPS isn't high enough, and your fuel drains very very fast, and your thrust is weak when your fps is like 30

    my fps is a constant 30. :'( i always get stuck in the base with heavy armor and a shotgun


    Unless i go aliens, then i go gorge and try to land on the marines heads MWAHAHAHA.
