    A few side on pictures, and you could make a snazzy little NS platform game in Shockwave or the like. Very nice, if a bit green.

    OOoooo A rpg would be bomb.
    The first part of it is a training ground and you start off with nothingbut a pistol then you move up to mgs and shotguns till you reach a nuke :P
    Oh ya good sprites, try making one in capcom style :D

    Side scroller or RPG, ive always fancied doing some isometric/flat low detail work.

    I'm practicing making simple games now.... though I don't have enough knowledge about openGL or directx.  I will learn openGL soon, as I'm making tetris, gotta begin somewhere, but my lack of experience might get the better of me for a project such as this...

    I have years and years of programming stupid text-based games, many of which were in a simple RPG format, and it's not *that* hard to translate it over to something like a Final Fantasy 3-like interface.  I dunno if I'd be able to help much on the graphics engine side of things, but as stated before I'm very willing to do game logic and battle sequences.

    Alright. Seeing as we have some people willing to do work in this direction, Fam sent me out into the world of free engines to search and find one for us.

    I looked around for a while, and this was one that looked somewhat appealing to me, and could probably (I haven't looked that much into it) be easily used, for our purposes.

    hmmm, i would love to do some work on this. It would be relatively easy to make the maps for it because all we would have to do is get permission to use the NS textures, then resize them and combine them, etc.

    well, ive imported almost 200 textures from the ns.wad into a tileset for the sphere engine, if Pyrowolf would just make some side-on animations i could implement the Marine Character.

    I'm trying to get an NS RPG made, and I would love these marines to be in it. If you could redo them in a 32*64 pixel size and have walking animations for going up, down left and right then this would be really helpful

    Hey Blackwolf, I'd love to see what you've done with this so far. Originally I had thought that Fam would be doing the graphics side of things, but it is great that you are helping! I'd love to see what you've done so far. We are all usually on IRC, although Interfector goes by pielemuis, and is a Euroboy.. so he isn't on later at night.
    You ought to get on and have a chat with Fam and piele and I.. Rhoads is interested as he said, but a tad busy at the moment.
    I'll start thinking of a storyline, or something..

    Please, if you guys make a NS-RPG then please let it have a different combat system then the one RPGMaker2k has (or final fantasy). Make it more corky 17-like, or something like that. It would just be more NS like...

    Could you explain the combat system in corky-17? I've never even heard of it. NemesisZero has said that he would be very interested in creating the storyline for it, and possibly writing the scripts. I'll give him a tad bit of pimpage, check out his work.

    Its a great little short story, and it might be a cool plot for the RPG.

    So ya'll ARE going through with this whole NS game thing?  If that's the case do I need to get these sprites made out soon or what?
    (Could only go so far as humaniod sprites, isn't really skilled at say... making bobs.)

    Side Scroller - more or less it seems like it would be like Metal Slug if anything.

    RPG - Final Fantasyish... I'm not too crazy at those types where you can't see the characters attack, all you see is the enemies in front of you with your stats at the bottom.

    Strategy - Maybe not something as complexish as Starcraft or whatever, but how about the type of strategy like Final Fantasy Tactics/Advanced Wars/turn based type.

    P.S. I know a fighting game is out, but just to humor me, does anyone know if there is such a thing that lets you make Marvel VS. Capcom like fighting games?

    If you guys need an extra had at something, I'd be glad to help out in any way I can, too.  Think of it... A game (HL) spawning a game (NS) which spawns it's own game (NSRPG).  Sub-children!

    Hey, I'd really enjoy working on this NS minigame with you all.  My email is liquidscript@cox.net if you need to contact me for anything.  I'd be good at making the actual levels, maybe some pixel art, although i haven't tried.  I can use RPG2k, although i don't like its combat system.  I'll have a look at this sphere engine, it looks pretty good.
