    Looks good, although kinda repetative and very little contrast in the lighting.

    it has alot of potential. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
    What you need to think about is what the purpose of the room is. Sometime mappers forget, and make hive rooms that look like they were made for the hives themselves, but the room looks good with the pools of water and the computer monitors. What i think you should do is,

    a) make the supports much thicker. They look way too thin right now.
    b)Maybe add some glass in-between the supports? would look really nice.
    c) have some machinery or pipes going into and out of the water, to make it look like its there for reason.
    d) make it abit darker, looks a little too bright right now.
    e) maybe add some railings around that slope?

    Hope this helps. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    the water is coolant for the computer core. And i've modified the supports (with help from mouse, thanks mouse!) to make them thicker and such.
    New screens soon.

    can you move the hive up and towards the door so it hangs over the horizontal struts? Moving it there'd make it a lot less prone to being sniped from the door, and will (somewhat) lessen the effectiveness of jetbos.

    Door? What door?
    I haven't made any doors yet <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->
    And in any case, i can't fit anything over the <i>new</i> pillars.

    I think that the water should be a little transparent. You might want to try a different water texture as well- the clean blue really stands out against all of the infestation.

    I like it but agree that a cintrast of lighting is required

    Nice ugly stripe of computer lights going round the room. Thats not repitive at all.

    The room is very ... umm, square. <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->

    It looks like each wall runs the full length/width of the room. If you've got the polys to spare and are willing to try a few things out, I'd suggest doing something with the corners of the room at least. Even a simple 45-degree angle corner can sometimes work. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    This big area needs alot of work that you have said you got in plan, and other people have pointed out all of the areas I would have said so I'm not going to rabbit on about them. Add some supports on the floors over the water, make the supports on the side so they hang off of the side and go up...I got a quick concept of the brushwork as an attatched image. Its supposed to have the supports all same lengths and same distance from floor etc.

    EDIT: This will help balance up the big area by restricting the marine space inside the area. Allowing Kharaa an easier escape and easier kills with a higher survival rate in their own environment.

    That's an AWFUL big room; low-level aliens restricted to melee attacks will have a seriously difficult time defending this hive - to say nothing of anyone defending it against a handful of jetpackers.

    hence why the glass would

    a) protect the hive from long distance attack,
    b) look really cool!

    i think a small group of rines will totaly rape that hive, just to much distance for a skulk to travel.

    ---**EDIT**--- oooowwwww glass..ahhh that helps alittle

    As much as I like this idea, I can't think of a way to fit it in with the "theme" of the room. Consider it yours <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> Thanks for the comments all of you, I'm working on it right now. More pics! It's still repetitive and square as hell, but I can't be bothered to fix all that right now.

    hmm i would not want to cool *my* PC with that water.
    But it is right: gorges and skulks can't defend these long ways round the hive.
    This is a prefect pistol and lmg area tbh. The aliens are sneaky creatures. They would never hang up a hive where everyone can see it. Maybe there could be some large structure somewhere so the aliens can hide their hive behind it?

    Very nice.. A few suggestions...

    A) Going with many others, this room would be too easy for the marines to take....add some variation or glass or something...
    THis leads to my next point....

    B) PUT some emphasis on the hive... maybe you can a small control center thing in the room, and the hive can be in there.. just something to stand it out and protect it to a certain extent... It looks really puny in that room.
