According to Prodigy (and some of my own tests) it looks like it uses a lot more cpu utilization. Is there a cvar to fix that?

I don't know if it's just my system but .. it doesn't look like hlds 4.1.1.1 and hlds 4.1.1.0 play nice on the same box. I was going to test some stuff whilst leaving the NS 1.1 (hlds 4.1.1.0) up .. but when I lauched the new one it completely hung my box (that's why my server was down).

Valve has integrated a query restriction in the new HLDS version which has fatal consequences for HLSW in HLDS' standard configuration. The max_queries_sec variable adjusts how many requests per second per IP will be processed by the server without getting banned. Sadly the default value is set to 0,5. Since 4 requests are needed to gather all information it would take 8 seconds for this (too long --- if you ask me). Due to a bug the max_queries_sec variable is always shown with value 1 and as a result of this the request periods can't be ajdusted dynamically. Even if this would be possible information from servers can't be gathered without problems by many computers which are connected via router (problem: same IP).
As a solution the max_queries_sec and max_queries_sec_global variables could be set to any higher value. But as long as the default value is this low the reasonable request-time of a second is not possible any longer.
It's a good question which use this limitation should have. I guess it's a result of the game servers' DoS weakness which became public (www.pivx.com). But this won't reduce the possibility of these attacks at all.
A fixed HLSW version requesting server information every 10 seconds will be released within the next days.

I think it is a good solution for the query problem even if the guy from HLSW dont think so. He should make a real solution if he can.

Yeah my NS server CPU usage went up by close to 25%.

Im seriously considering downgrading.
