Mirrors Delayed (Leakers Suck)
Apparently the private link to the files that only the mirrors were to use got leaked. The mirrors are having a hard time getting the files, but transfers are in progress.

Leakers suck. Leakers are currently delaying the release for everyone.

    Not nescesarily. I'm guessing they sent e-mails to the mirrors contining a super-secret download link, and someone chose to leak the download link that only meant to have 200 downloads, not 200,000.

    It would have been smarter to send burned CDs though.

    Uhhh, if you pick crappy unreliable mirrors that leak your code, and you fail to password your mirrors and change the passwords after you see your mirror ops link in, you have not properly organized your rollout. You are at fault.

    As for burning CD's... dunno. It looks like they were requesting mirrors a couple days before release instead of doing the legwork to have mirrors lined up ahead of time. The whole situation is just very slapdash. You'd think Valve would have whipped them into better shape for this release... it's neither here nor there though.

    Grrr! Fear ME!!! In DoD 1.0 I owned with the Sniper Rifle, 2.0 and 2.1 I owned with the Sniper Rifle, in 3.0 and 3.1 I convert to Axis only and own with the Sniper Rifle. Now in DoD 1.0, I own with the Sniper Rifle (K98Scoped) It's the circle of Sniping. ~_^ First Score in DoD 1.0!!! I only played for 5-ish minutes.

    Is it just me, or did this get released very strangely? We all found out about the new version from an ad on the EBGames website. The game release date is announced in an interview on a site other than dayofdefeatmod.com. The mirror list is not yet up on dayofdefeatmod.com - you have to search for a server. As I said, this is being handled strangely - might I say, unprofessionally. The DoD team seem to be messing this up rather well.
