Question About Lighting

<div class="IPBDescription">question about lighting</div> I've got lighting near a door. Is there a way to block it off from the other side of the door when the door is closed? It seems that the light acts as if the door is not there and the ceiling, floor and door frame reflect the light that is on the other side.

its most noticable when the light is flashing, flickering, strobing, etc...

Brush entities (such as doors) don't block light the way normal world brushes do. You can set flags to tell a brush entity to block light, however it will still be blocking the light even when it's moved (because the lighting is calculated at compile time with the door in it's starting position). Basiclly the answer is no, there isn't a way to make it act the way you want to. It's annoying I know, you just have to work around it.

ok, thats what i figured. i thought that maybe there was some sort of compile option or some such that i might have missed.

i'll just try to not place lights near doors. no big deal.

    thanks.
