Yes, it looks like Eclipse. It's a sequel. I've got more stuff in the works, but can't show you at this stage. The new stuff looks different. You complain about it looking like the Eclipse theme, I kill. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->
With that...

Enjoy. New version may be complete this weekend if all goes well.

Me likey lots. Do the status cameras on the screen update/change with map events?
<complaint>It looks like the eclipse theme tho--just thought you should know that.</complaint>
Let me suggest making Eclipse and Veil have the same theme but with different lighting. For example Eclipse could have Red-Green theme and Veil could have Blue-Red theme.
It looks great, especially the lightning of that area.
Oh, by the way KFS, <!--emo&:0--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wow.gif'><!--endemo-->
<!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo--> (I'll get you some more as soon as is humanly possible)
It seems a little 'clean' for NS but its very pretty. The blue lighting seems a bit intense to be coming from a screen that people are supposed to read. But it looks cool anyways.
KFS: I've seen that you put a lot of attention on CEILINGS... yet seem to neglect floors when adding details. A few loose tiles or floor grating would make it even better.

Really nice work, as always Andrew.
did you know I always lie <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
Sheesh...
Well if Elcipse is anything to go by, veil with look pretty damn kule.

- The blue light coming from the monitor looks a bit pale to me. It certainly shouldn't be a deep, rich, dark blue or anything... I think you're definitely on the right track with the shade and tone there, but I think it just needs to be a little deeper somehow. Though, that could be a personal preference.
- The wall with the two arched doorways back there looks like it'd be a great place for a bit of extruding wall detail architecture or something. Looks a bit flat/featureless right now.
Again, though, it looks wonderful!
Hrm, square ceiling pipes. The secret of Andrew's ability to stay well below all compile limits is revealed <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->

Each doorway in this shot leads to one of the sides of the area at the beginning of this thread, with a hallway from either side meeting in between. The Eclipse-style doorway leads to a stairway down to a lower hallway that eventually leads to the south hive. You may find that one slightly familiar when you see it...
There's really no reason to bother with the floor. Floors are designed to be walked on, to be flat, etc. Gratings are rather useless as long as the potential remains for structures to fall through entities as can be noted in ns_nancy in particular.
Veil does have much more of a blue hint to it due to the number of screens and whatnot strewn about the map. To me, I picture it in a monitoring sector of the facility, where screens and terminals keep the staff up to date on the entire facility. The blue/red contrast is a lot stronger than in Eclipse, which holds more of the orange/red theme. The orange is still present in Veil, of course, but the color shift should keep things just different enough while keeping the theme the same.
This map has taken far too long. Then again, Eclipse took far too long. *shrug*
