What amazes me about a repeat post is the 'poster' will post his topic, first reply will be " Use the search button " yet the post will still go on to be 3 pages long Looks like people are maybe interested in what he has posted or keen to help...seems that we are dealing with a minority here Shock...

Aye Talesin, I was. But the point is still valid. If that mindset grates on me, and I've posted for a while, then how are the real new people going to feel by that treatment?
I must agree to the "USE A SEARCH!!11 N00B!!!!!"-overuse. It seems the word "n00b" is used a lot more as well.. I don't like such insulting people...it really makes the feel of the board all "Go away, you don't belong here!" If you don't wanna read it, don't read it! It's a forum, not an army drill. Sjeesh!

Ok, I'll admit it's hard to be -completely- original, but I just wish that people would think before they post, and read the FAQs too. Why is it so bad when someone is nicely told that their topic has been brought up before, so-and-so descision was reached and perhaps they could read the FAQ?
Oh man S&I means suggestions and ideas forum.... i never realized that. I just thought we had a lot of posters who used to play Science & Industry all the time and like to talk about it still.

Err.... Insane.... I meant people shouldn't have to be more original. I meant to go lightly on them. If they bring up a point, and it's been discussed a lot, well, they're new. They're meant to. Let's show them how good it is.

[EDIT]: bad spelling
2. People do make mistakes.
3. The search ain't perfect.
4. Posting "Use the search" bumps up the redudant post.
As much as we want to avoid redundancy, it will continue to happen and nothing can be done to prevent it.
e.g. do NOT search for
search noob
(no results)
but
search AND noob
(4 results )
