Webs can kill too...

Stupid Gorge came up to me trying to web me while I was trying to knife him and somehow I died. It showed up as the Skull and Crossbones thing. Man that was wierd but funny as hell.

Well obviously. Just like parasites do like 2 damage or something. They weren't meant to be used as an attack, but if they do damage, they must indeed... KILL!

They do no damage.

The way that can happen is, if the gorge changes weapons TO web as you die from another thing (Spit, Spray) the kill icon and name will show the web.

This is how you can get a Primal Scream kill. Run into spawn, start a charge & switch to Primal Scream while you charge around. Every kill will be a Primal Scream kill. You can also get comedic Blink kills this way.

Does it work with projectiles? Acid rocket, switch to blink, marine dies, says you blinked him to death(ok).

Yeah, it's just a weird halflife thing. Happens in DoD with nades all the time.

I haven't had that do that in dod for a while now, but a while ago it would constantly look like i kill two or three people in a row with the buttstock of my gun. (the sprites were messed up)

well it still happens in teh sanse that sometimes if you throw a grenade (this is DoD I'm talking about <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'>) then switch to your gun, you will show you as getting kills with your gun when they were really nade kills.

yeah, i did that once. got 5 kills with a nade and it looked like i did it with a rifle. got kicked cos they sed i was teh hax0r. rofl <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'>

heh i did get a marine to kill himself with mines by using web. i had heard previously that it was spit that set off mines but obviously the web if shot right can set them off too. All it showed on the score board was a marine who mined himself to death. <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'>

Nope, he didn't do it by switching or shooting mines. What happened was we were right next to eachother and he was shooting webs. Try it out yourself, I think I had full health when he did it. He was just as surprised as I was when it happened.

I once saw a guy pull off an umbra kill by being onos, charging, morphing into a lerk, and umbraing in 1 go.
The charge killed the marine, but it gave the kill to umbra.

There's a bug that if an effect can kill you, and you change weapons, it gives the new weapon the kill.
Works for webs, paralysis, umbra, primal scream, blink and so on.

actually ive seen a symbol for this belive it or not, i dont know if it was just a plugin or something because ive seen em in a few servers its a spit symbol in the center and u see a trail of 2 lines (webs) zig zagging, if anyone else has seen this tell me so i know im not seeing things lol i will try to get a screeny of this!!
