We rush the hive and win in about 6 minutes.

They complain and i get banned...

Ok, a short rundown, as I got it:

Silent is comming, and have built a PG next to aliens hive.
After a while, the ops in alien team are apparently tired of losing, so they kick n' ban him of the server.

ok its official YO clanmembers actually hold off finishing a game in favour of having more playtime per game... so you cant try a good strat thats kinda hard to pull off but will win if it works and face gettin a ban or you can be stuck on a side where they aint gonna finish you off when they get the chance but when they want to...

Well it´s their server so they can pretty much do as they want. But it would be nice if they had a MoTD or something that let you know what is not allowed.
I play there quite often. I had no ideá that was not allowed. Guess I just have to be more careful in the future.

on a whole the YO clan and its members have been very friendly while ive been playin on that server... maybe its the minority in the clan thats causing problem as they clearly cant stand to loose acting in this manner...

Silent But Violent executed an excellant tactic as commander and played the game excellantly as if it were a clan match, and I must congratulate him on this, but here the praise ends. YO do not feel that these tactics are suitable for public play; the decrease the enjoyment of a game, they do not allow a long game to occur and it is a style of play that we do not like to see on our server during public play. I have my self in previous games asked fellow players on the aliens side to hold back from rushing the marines base to 'give them a chance' due to, as I have stated previously this makes the game last longer and it is a lot more fun for everyone.

Now onto the second part of my post, Silent But Violent's attitude once we had informed him such rush games were not suitable for public play in our opinions and as such we did not like them on our server, took a turn for the worst, it became an attitude which we, quite frankly, do not want on our servers, an imature attitude, an attitude prevalent in many 'script kiddies' found upon the internet today. (I am not of course accusing SBV of being a script kiddie, but his attitude is somewhat simliar.) As usual we issued a warning kick to Silent But Violent, he then rejoined the server and continued with the same unacceptable attitude, as a result we was banned by one of our admins.

We operate a very simple policy;

We play to have fun, rush games are not fun.
People with bad attitudes are banned.

however right or wrong either party, if you don't FIRST contact the server owner (check sv_contact, find the IRC channel etc) then your posting here is utterly wrong.

In ANY SERVER DISPUTES you MUST first contact the server admin/owner before shouting from the rooftops about your experience, whatever that may be. Reason: You don't NECESSARILY know what the circumstances are - you can't say with certainty. the owner may be as appalled as you are and do something about it.

BUT, if you don't give the server operator a chance to assess the problem, instead you come to the forums and slander the server (be it right or wrong), YOU are the one in the wrong.

At the end of the day, server ops put in their own time, money, and often also bandwidth running these servers. That fact gives them the right to run the server how they choose. I have no rights on someone else's server, as no-one else has rights on mine.

If the server op won't help you, THEN you might consider posting here.
If you can't contact anyone, ASK here if anyone knows where to contact a certain person.
The options are almost limitless, yet STILL people simply come here posting their just-out-of game experiences.

If you don't like a server, don't play there. Don't, however, slander those running it without ven having spoken to them first to try to solve the dispute.

From what you said, the main admin condemned what happened to you. Why not contact him FIRST then?

We never mind losing, we certainly do mind such tactics being used in public play on our server, they take away the excitement and a lot of the fun of the game. Further more as I have stated in my above post it was SBV's attitude towards the admins and regulars which resulted in his ban. I was willing to unban him but upon recieving another torant of his attitude in IRC it was decided we would not unban him. Was he to know you were against the tactic before he executed it? I was on hybrid's server once and the admin said he was bored of marines relocating. And told me he would kick us if we relocated ... this is when the 2nd cc was already built. People need clear rules laid down before a game starts.

Secondly, if someone is kicked, that person will rejoin, be likely to be upset and show signs of anger. Can you understand this? Very unlikely someone will carry on without saying something. From what I c, you banned him for showing his feelings. He's not at fault. The server is for not preventing this.

As I have stated in my previous posts SBV was not banned for his tactics but rather for his attitude. It is true we do not like such tactics but we can hardly blame SBV and put him at fault when he did not know this. He was informed that we do no like such tactics where upon his attitude certainly became an issue for concern.

i play it on it often its a good server, i also play on another server often and those along with BY servers are all i play on... i have never witnessed that before though,

the YO guys are pretty sound guys, and i dont blame them for not wanting to play a game as far as it can go. i think you shouldnt have posted this here and it will probably get deleted.

listen, ive seen people react far worse than SBV. Its not like he went crazy and swore or anything. Maybe in the future to stop this you should let people know before-hand. (try the connect screen)
