<!--QuoteBegin--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->Half-Life 2 is scheduled for a September 30th release.
Yes, you're still Gordon Freeman, and yes, the story assumes you went to work for the G-Man.
Half-Life 2 takes place in a European city called "City 17."
Headcrabs will be back! Although some of the Xen aliens will be your friends?
Barney is back. And so is Half-Life's original writer, Marc Laidlaw.
While the new engine has all sorts of fancy features, it's still designed to work on lower-end machines. Apparently a 700mhz processor and a video card capable of running DX6 is enough, although a 2ghz with a GeForce4 is recommended.
The girl in the promo art is named Alyx, a daughter of a scientist who factors into the story somehow. She's not playable.
Scripted Sequences will be more interactive.
Half-Life 3 is planned, so expect another cliffhanger ending. <!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

    LoL Monsieur! You must be really excited, I share the exact same fealings! From the Screen shots it looks like HL2 is conparibale the NOLF 2 which ran fine on my system, (1 ghz, 384, mg, 30 gig harddrive, Radeon 7500.) BTW I already started HL1 again, I'm having the time of my life!

    wait...what? what do you mean by ...on NS' new engine known as 'Source'... this is from a HL2 preview, nothing to do with NS right? I've wet myself enough just reading the HL2 article, if this is about NS I gotta start a whole new load of laundry.

    Why NS for HL2 though? We don't need more weapons/new aliens, and the only real benefit we would get would be prettier graphics, and most people would play original HLs NS, because many lower-end people would play that instead, so more people... uh, yah.

    EDIT: Though true, many many less bugs with the hitboxes+ hull issues(that might need the onos to be sized down a tiny bit.), plus, omg I didnt think of this, if the Source engine isn't a rumor, marines can throw boxes at skulks! How cool is that? edit2 and OMG HOW BOUT A MARINE CAN PICK UP A TURRETN ADN BE LIEK "LORK AT ME IMA GOIGN OT BAET TEH ONSO WITH THSI STICK" AND TEH ONOS WOULD BE ALL ESXPLOED EVERYWHAR AND ITWOUD BE LIEK I AER TEH ONOS KILLAR MACHEIN!!"#!"#¤!"¤%!"#%#!%/@$€{€

    Why not upgrade your comp? If I would you, I would never play a game that I have waited for so long with about 5 fps.

    A lot of benchmarks done with the FX have shown that its only improved upon the radeon 9700's benchmarks by a barely minimal amount. This effect is even nullified in certain areas the harder you push AA and AF. I can only hope that through time, the drivers for the FX are vastly improved upon. Its definitely got the hardware advantage, now it just remains to be taken advantage of. In the meantime, I'm hesitant to stick a giant vacuum cleaner to the back of my computer which can only half-assedly outperform my current 9700 :\
    I am certainly looking forward to half life 2 though, seems like they're adding an element of fear into it that for me at least, the first half life kinda lacked. I thought i'd have to go to doom3 for my only scares (will still be getting that of course), but half life 2 might be able to add some spooky moments as well <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
