<div class="IPBDescription">Place some unrelated description here</div> I found an easy way to identify n00bs on the forums (and attract flames to boot!):
If the person is dead set on one strategy, you can bet they have little real gameplay experience in NS. I don't care how well you do this strategy, if you haven't figured out how to adapt, you don't understand the game. NS has vast possibilities for divergence, yet we see the same arguments time and again.
Of course, there are many reasons that account for what works and does not work:
1) Team experience. The experience level of the players and commander, if marine, can alter plan immensely. I have seen complete novices kick some clanners butts because they didn't KNOW they needed to do x,y and z to counter the uber rush. They just flailed around and won.
2) Mindset. Many people get into a mindset that X,Y and Z are the way to win, so they waste valuable time and resources to win that way. Alternatively, the opposing team usually has the mindset that they need to do A,B and C to counter it. It's amazing what something new can do for people who play with this mindset.
3) Map specific wins. Sometime there are certain strats that work very well one map, but not another. Toss those same teams into a unknown map and watch them flail like newbies.
I could go on, but I think many of you get my point. Anyone who says that X,Y and Z is the only way to win, or that by doing D,E and F you will never win has no idea how this game really works. If you are unwilling to try new things, I ceremoniously appoint you an honorary n00b.

Basically it says it all in my sig. Because quite frankly, some of the posts people post, I just shake my head, because i've seen them play, and they are very little if any of what they say they are.
People need to act more and talk less.
Actually, when people talk and do not deliver, they are scrubs, not n00bs, I apologize.
Anyone have a translation? Left my leet speek to English dictionary in my other armor <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
noobs are the ppl with a different agenda on mind from what the rest of teh team is doing.
noobs are the ppl who demand weapons instead of proving that they are worthy of holding a hmg
tehy are also the ones who hide in the corner when the base is under atk
Sorry, thought it was obvious.. yes.. when you are commander, try new things.. when you are marine, listen to the commander, even if it is different that what you are used to.
So you loose a few games.. no biggie. I will guantee you will loose you you consider the commander a n00b as soon as he doesn't do what YOU wanted, so you begin to ignore the commander. If you break the chain of command, YOU are the reason the team lost, not the commander.
If you are so obsessed with winning that you can't enjoy the game, I advise you seek professional council.

A n00b is the guy who begs for HMG's while I am screaming at him to go through the phase gate cuz refinery is going to die in 12.83 seconds. After that he vote kicks me because they have two hives, and then says bad words at me until we vote kick him.
Oh yea BTW I<3 u means "I am less then 3 of you", usualy people say I>3u which means "I am greater then 3 of you"

is what ur saying is that you have to change what youre going to do, to suit what you need in the heat of battle, not what you organised in the strategy before hand?
my thoughts=
When was that? I really cant remember late night ns ever lol
Ah, but it DOES relate. I simply got tired of everyone posting the "correct" stratagies, thus my response. Of course, flamers are welcome, I have to heat up my Spaghetti-Os somehow.
Just how is it ironic?

Its just so ironic that your name has fire in it and...fire can post in forums? <!--emo&:0--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wow.gif'><!--endemo--> OMG HAX LOLZ that make no sense TBH. Oh wait, you want me to explain it, is it reeeeally necessary?
People who disobey the commander, get eaten a lot, ask for weapons all the time, but dont KNOW THEY'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO are n00bs
People who disobey the commander because they think they know better, get eaten cos they go off on their own to attack the hive, ask for weapons because they're "Uber "elite" with teh HMG!!!!!111", vote kick the comm cos he didnt drop him a MedPack while he was trying to knife an offence chamber etc, those are idiots.
N00bs need to learn, and will probably learn fast
Idiots don't want to learn, and probably never will
the main problem is not enough ns players read this board .. hey if they all did we wouldnt have much to moan about
Im relativly new to the boards, which makes me technicly a n00b on them. Say i get into an argument with someone on here, and do sommat stupid like insult their mom (i try not to do this anyway, but just for sake of argument), and their mother died 2 weeks ago. It would be an honest mistake, something that i didnt know about at all, and i would learn not to do it again.
But say someone who KNEW that persons mom was dead, but insulted her anyway, THAT is an idiot (hell, stronger words could be used but they would be *'d out)
I hope everyone gets my point, you were new once, took you a while to get used to tracking those Skulks and stuff, so give em a break
If you place a WP to some locations (the worst is RR.) on Tanith, because of the way the entrance is over to the right, it actually <b>looks</b> like the quickest way is through the left-most exit (towards Waste Handling)
Only occurs if the players don't know the map very well. But they have to know it VERY well to realise you actually mean RR, as they'd have to pay attention to the distance to wp indicator.
X_Stickman : I see where you're coming from, but unfortunately, in practise it doesn't work quite like that, as there are certain contraventions you should expect anyone with an IQ (Not a rating, just having one should be a requirement) should be able to follow.
actualy, talking about n00bness in NS, when everyone first saw an onos (for the very first time) what did you try and do? with me it was:
<!--emo&::asrifle::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/asrifle.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='asrifle.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::onos::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tiny.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tiny.gif'><!--endemo-->
as for when i WAS an onos for the first time... well, i ran into a base, got no kills and got stuck on some turrets and got knifed to death, but the less said about that the better <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
Why do most people tend to forget, that we where all n00bs at some point?
Of course I get angry about once a day, because one or more n00b made my team loose (or at least didn't do a thing to prevent it)...but one should never forget one's roots <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
<!--emo&::skulk::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/skulk.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='skulk.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::asrifle::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/asrifle.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='asrifle.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::gorge::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/pudgy.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='pudgy.gif'><!--endemo--> "Come and get me Marine <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> "
Just because you are new, does not mean you are a n00b.
