Marine Strategy?

i dunno this is the strat forum
Lets see, Heres what I do when I comm a pub.

#1) Tell your team to just SUYF and listen, or they wont win. Also, tell them not to leave base, you are not relocating this is not noob server 101, you are not expanding instantly, this is not a clan match don't go outside because you're so uber leet, do not scout, just sit and wait.

#2) Once your IP Armoury Arms lab is built you need to just call some random names, depending on the size of the game and tell them to pressure (Being a good comm you know where their hive is). Then run around with 1 or 2 other guys and cap the nodes. Its comical how well this works in matches, and its fing hilarious how well it works in pubs.

#3) Upgrade weapons first, and then upgrade to JP's and have them control the map. Do NOT upgrade HMG's yet (Unless like usual you have about 5-9 res nodes depending on the map) and if you DO upgrade HMG's, do NOT EVER TELL ANYONE. NEVER drop an HMG until you are ready to take out the hive. NEVER NEVER NEVER. It is a science, your team will INSTANTLY circle jerk around the armoury the second you drop the first HMG. Then they will stream out of your base 1 by 1 once they have their HMG's and die. The only way to cure this complete lack of skill and newbiness is to quite simply never drop an HMG until you have 200+ resources and can drop 8 of them with level 2 weapons and level 1 armor.

#4) Get out of the comm chair and some noob will hop in, pick up your own JP HMG and tell everyone to wait. Then YOU Lead them to the hive, because they will NEVER get there on their own, and constantly use the mic so noone else can say anything.

#5) Take all of you and just jp hmg the hive ignoring everything on your way.

Options:

You will completely own the alien team, so you have some options. Some of my favorites are....
A) Capping every node on the map to rub it in (Even their hive node) and then dropping an armoury in their hive so you can drop mines on every "spawn" location.
B) Taking out the hive with nothing but turrets.
C)trapping all of the aliens with comm chairs

If you just follow these simple steps, you too can be a "elite" pub commander.

(As funny/stupid as this post sounds, it works and i am 100% serious.)

Strat works pretty well. I use it all the time.

Only thing is theres not much of a variety in game play anymore :

    Ive got an easier strat.

1)Tell the marines to defend base the whole game, no need to go anywhere, just sit and defend base.

    2)Buy ip armoury arms lab.

    wait for res

    3)Upgrade armoury

    wait for res

    4)Build Proto

    5)Recycle arms lab

    6)Research JP

Wait for research to finish, tell all the marines to go somewhere, get myself a jp hmg, go kill hive.

Well wasnt that a fun game?

Being able to jp hmg rush on a public server does not make you a skilllful comm .. it makes you a v boring comm. And yes you can get all those upgrades in about 8 minutes or so...... Most comms dont realise keeping on building rts get v expensive...

Try doing a two hive lock down - that at least makes the game MORE exciting for both sides and takes way more understand of the game.

The problem with a straight JP/HMG rush that you A) miss out on crucial upgrades, once the aliens get carapace against your level 0 weapons, you pretty much can kiss expanding goodbye B) let the aliens control the map, which is bad which means they can get carapace faster and get defenses up faster meaning your JP/HMG rush will fail to lerks/OCs/whatever.

The only time I go for a straight rush is when the aliens are constantly held inside their hive though I would imagine if the marines worked together they'd just spawn camp and get it over with.

lol. Silly pubbers never get what i'm trying to do. I always get comments like "omg give me a phase gate in maint!!!" or "stupid comm didnt even get a radar thing, how are we supposed to warp?"

Basically there are 2 strats I use in pubs now. The upgraded jp/hmg rush, and the dual upgrade siege. Whats that? I send constant pressure to the hive while i cap nodes just like RoQ does, but then I get 2 AL's and Upgrades to lvl 3 weaps, lvl2 armor, then have everyone rushe to a good siege location (keyhole is pretty damn good) we set up like 3 packs of mines, phase gate, turrets and siege. If the pressure is good theres no way they are buillding a second hive. And nothing short of a 6 member clan stack will be able to kill that outpost in time to save the hive. Not with lvl 3 weaps and mines and turrets.

Sometimes I'll try a 5 man JP/lmg/shottie rush if i know we have some skilled players. In all honesty the hive will drop in 10 seconds flat to 5 jetpackers with shotties/lmg. No exageration. Wow that one really gets admins mad. Oh and then ofcourse theres the classic spawn camp that I do when I clan stack that'll get ya banned. Getting banned is fun!

    LMAO. So, so, so true....

You can almost see the thought process in motion.

numpty 1 is happily killing skulks with his LMG, sticking in his squad and generally following orders....then he sees numpty 2 carrying, wait for it...a HMG! numpty 1 runs back to base ASAP. "plz comm, numpty 2 got a HMG, can I have one ?" and then refuses to move whilst the rest of the map goes to hell till he gets a HMG.

Aside from that which I found hilarious, your just describing a typical clan JP/HMG rush. SOOO last week, and soon to be last version

The sad part is...most of its true. I comm and at the point when i hand out jetpacks hmgs, and the marines run off not knowing where they're going, i have to get out, and lead them. and most of them can't follow or jetpack worth a damn, so I have to wait on them...and then some idiot goes comm and builds a tf in base complete with turrets by the time you return or die.
