Shell.mdl?

<div class="IPBDescription">what is it?</div> ok i tried to join a server the other day, and it didnt allow custom models. so i removed the 3 custom models i use and placed the orginals back into my ns models folder. but when i tried to connect back to the server it displayed a "server is forcing file consistency for model shell.mdl" thing is i have no idea what model this is, its not one i have replaced and i dont even have a shell.mdl model in my ns models folder. i have a pshell.mdl but thats it. anyone know what causes this error? any info would be apprieciated.

this is an incredibly annoying problem. Fortunately the answer is simple. Download 1.04 and all will be well. <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'>

Downloading the 1.04 server patch will fix any problems with shell.mdl.

no, you said download 1.04 not the 1.04 server patch which i assumed id never need as i dont run a server, but if thats what you meant then thanks anyway.

once i dl the server update where do i put all the files???

considering there is no 1.04 client patch there is no need to say 1.04 server-side patch.

shell.mdl is the background of your menus. for example i have a custom tfc one, so instead of the boring bullet holes one, i have a neato one of 2fort with rockets and **** flying everywhere. Somehow yours got changed during your customizing, i sugest you get a friend to email it to you sinceits like 25k or something small like that.

well i checked it in HLMV and its..gasp...you will never guess. A shell model!

i assumed you were reffering to the full 1.04 client installer, i already have that on my hdd. i didnt want to reinstall the whole thing as it would mess with my preexisting settings. i downloaded that shell.mdl thing anyway i hope that works, thanks for the info anyway supernorn.

there is no full 1.04 client file, there is only 1.0 client, as 1.04 is server side only.

I think if you delete the model the server will download if for you.
