What's The Point Of Cd

<div class="IPBDescription">If it's not required</div> Well I noticed that a lot of servers have Cheating-Death on their server these days, but a lot of them don't require it. Does this not make sense to anyone else? What's the point of having an anti-cheat program on your server when people can still cheat? Sure, it will give them the No CD tag in front of their names, but still that doesn't prove anything. Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't this make no sense?

    Makes sense to me.

If I truely think someone is cheating I would ask them to install cd or be banned.

Well by not making it required they can have more people but like Warpaq said if they suspect someone is cheating they can ask them to install CD or be banned. That way they can still let anyone join their server and have a way good way to help them detect cheaters.

Another reason...them main one I suppose is so Team members and other regulars have a chance to dload and install it before it goes mandatory.

True if they have [NO-CD] infront of their name and they are killing like theres no tomorrow then they may be cheating and if you ask them to install and reconnect and they just leave then they probably were.

Basically, if I see a server that requires CD, i wont join. There are plenty of other servers out there that are cheat free and dont require me to install CD. That and i am too lazy. What is the point of joining a 3 person server that kicks me out the second i join without getting a chance to play with people and see what the server is like. I have seen many CD servers that are full of complete ***holes and nonCD servers that are a pleasure to play on.

If you are using cheating-death on a non-required server. You are scanned, and verified; so if there are any suspicions they are alaid because you are using it. I think at least, that's the reasoning behind it -- seems to make sense and that's why I would do it.
