Pretty sweet, Zazi. The monitors don't seem to be giving off any light though.

I like the removed-floor-plate-exposing-techstuff-and-node bit; I've used that one a bit myself

You know about the additive trick with comuter monitors, right? You might wanna put that into play on your computer screens here - you'd get nice illuminated looking screens without adding any actual light to the scene.

The only real beef I have with these is that the same couple computer textures are used over and over, with nothing breaking them up. You might want to find another texture to slide in there, or in the case of the one texture with just monitors all over it, even try flipping one of the tiles over.

And, I guess, the floor light strips. Since I've become a convert to the Light_Spot Tabernacle Choir, I've been singing the praises of these left and right... some light_spot entities placed in front of those strips could give some _very_ nice, dramatic lighting effects on the floor.

Interesting, that looks a lot more techy and industrial and less Star Wars than your last shots, mostly because of the grey textures. I like how you have the floor tiles lying up against the wall like that, it looks really natural. The topmost parts of the walls look a little bit flat though, especially in the first shot. I do like how you added some supports, but I'd suggest you add more if you can spare the planes and r_speeds.

this map now seem to be lightned just by the white lights, this is not good at all. monitors and floor-neons aren't lightning.

Also i think there are too much monitors, and there are some monitors off-place: never saw a triangular monitor for eg...there are a pair of moniotors used on angle of consoles...i think you got to change this very soon.

I like it qute a bit, but a little variation like others said is needed. my only other annoyance is the floor lights. They look purple, and give off no light at all

I think that looks damn beutiful. Some lights.rad file editing is in order though, that would be the cherry on the icing.

I'm not in love with those big, glaring light_spots on the floor however.

Wow, I loved your last shots of this map and I love these! I will agree that trying to vary your computers a bit would help, but the overall look and lighting is execellent. Also, comprox, there is light coming from the floor lights, you notice it in darker areas. Zazi, if possible, you might want to make them brighter -- however, I would not try make them so bright that it lights up the room. I think you have this 'dark but light' thing down good. Loving it

I agree u should break it up a bit, having all one display only makes sense to me if there displaying something to the effect of "Comms Network Down". Otherwise try to vary it if u can.

wow, everytime you've posted has been an improvement. I really enjoy these shots, though a little more could be done to make the lighting interesting, besides the computer screen. Maybe you could have a broken lighting pannel somewhere or something creating some contrast. ... Anyways good stuff.

Thanks for the comments, guys! I was actually planning on splitting up the consoles and such, but haven't gotten to it yet, because I'm working on lighting right now. Which, btw, I'm editing the .rad file as I write this. Does anyone know a really good luminosity value I can set the blue lights at? You really can't tell the difference in this room when its set at 400, or 2. Kinda odd, if you ask me.

Since r_speeds are relativly low in this room, I'm going to add more details, like Rhodes suggested, such as support beams on empty areas.

I'm going to illuminate the monitors as well, once I get the rest of all this finished.

All these changes will be made before my next recompile and display.

Those shots are VERY good. Just one thing, there's too many moniters. And still in some places the textures just "change" going directly from one texture to a totally different one, it looks a bit wierd. Looking really good, and improving!

there are way too many awesome mappers on this forum, and i dont think your list even begins to scratch the surface. you forgot Kenbanks, Merkaba (sorry if i spelled it wrong), Greedo, Ekaj or Ejak (the guy doing Shaft), KungfuSquirrel, Plaguebearer, and a whole lot of other guys i cant think of.

but to drag this back on topic

overall it looks quite good, but there was a couple of things that caught my eye

what is that triangle shaped thing just to the right of the curved handrail in pic 2?

you might have mentioned this somewhere, but that green on black grid area, which i assume is a holo projector or screen of some sort, will have to change a bit. because right now it looks out of place.

but as i said before, overall it is quite good

    keep it up
