<div class="IPBDescription">1 shot kills....</div> I noticed in one server, marines were getting 1 shot kills on level 3 carapace with a LMG. Is this supposed to happen?
I don't believe you can make a script that overwrites the ROF of a weapon, the reason theres a pistol script is because there was no cap, aka, no ROF except how fast you can click.
It was probably running with sv_cheats set to 1 and the administrator had probably enabled the high damage cheat.
if a servers cpu is overloaded it may seem like one shot but thats because the server is so lagged... especially if the gunfire sounds like bursts.... thats definately server lag. As far as I know its impossible to kill anything in one shot.... there may have also been more than 1 marine shooting you which may also seem like 1-2 bullets
yep, if it sounded choppy then it was server lag unloading their whole clip in between lag bursts, this is when an LMG sounds like a shotgun and kills you...
if it happens consistently, time and again without any noticable lag, then the server couldve been running a highdamage cheat. this is not a player cheating or hacking, but the admin of the server trying to have a little fun.
note: i have seen a pistol script for the first time, last night, and as Sirus said, it doesnt work with LMG.

The OGC speedhack is AFAIK simply to make the player move faster. Weapon rate of fire, which are handled serverside, would not be affected.
Either the server was running a metamod, or you're plain wrong. And chances are, it's the latter, whether it be because of lag, or just because you can't follow the drop in health at the rate of each bullet hitting your skulk body. Not to mention that you give almost no detail about it, such as whether everyone with a LMG could kill in one hit and whether everyone on aliens would die from one LMG round.
I have personally witnessed people emptying the pistol almost instantly consistently (aka pistol script) and consistently getting about 10 skulk bites per second. I have never *witnessed* a rapid fire LMG script/hack, although I have heard it rumored.
Given that the skulk bite rapid fire works and that doesn't work the same way as the pistol, I would assume the LMG speed can be hacked too.

The speed-firing cheat works for ALL weapons. It is not a pistol script, in entirety. It incorporates a speedhack in short bursts to allow for full unloading of a clip in one bullet, at the highest level. Which is adjustable from 1.5x firing speed, to a full instant-clipdrain that can REALLY be painful as a Fade.
Hopefully it will be specifically coded against in v1.1, and the pinhead who wrote it will be found and beaten with raw bacon.

guys.. 1 hit kill = speedhack which isnt even a 1 hit kill.... its like a fast 19 shot kill or whatever, it coulda also be random mod, or lag!! I would suggest looking at your choke/loss/ping of you and the other player.
Eh yeah, thats speedhack. I have had suspicions about some people, its VERY hard to notice. Its just very odd when you have level 2 armor, full health, and a skulk kills you in what LOOKS like 2 bites. Or when you have level 3 carapace and a marine kills you at point blank before you can bite once.
At low speeds its hard to notice or accuse of, but it makes a huge difference, like a level 3 LMG vs a no carapace skulk.
1.1 WILL fix this, how? Well, im nto sure about coding, but the spectating mode will allow you to view the person's HUD and screen, as though you were looking through their eyes. This means aimbots/speedhacks will be instantly noticible, and if somone trys to block out the spectating thing, then it will be even more obvious.
Cheaters take note: You have a few more weeks to have your little fun time, then Flay is going to code kick your **** outta here!
