General Community View On Clan Community?

<div class="IPBDescription">just wondering...</div> I know there is a lot of hate between general communites and clan communties in games like dod, but I'd like to see ns be the first to get the clan community and pub community on the same level of understanding. I know some probably think of us as elitist **** who only want to exploit the game -- for all I know that's true for some, I can't speak for everyone. I know also that we're accused lots of lack of teamwork, but one thing that people that only pub ns have got to understand is the the real teamwork takes place in matches -- it's essential there. Whenever we're pubbing we could care less if Commander NSPlayer wants us to go build his turret factory. But I digress, I'd just like to hear some opinions on how the rest of the ns community views us. btw - if you want to really get involved in bringing the two communities closer, download mIRC (http://www.mirc.com or similar client) and hop on to the irc.gamesnet.net server, and join the channel #uevo

    I dunno whats wrong with my eyes but all I read here is "I speak for all the ns Pubbies, breng me ur clan community leader"

    I play clan wars and pubbies and I like them both, actually wait a sec here, i love this game, and I believe all clanners play pubbies :/

    i prefer to play on CD-req servers, or clan servers, the id10t -to - educated level differs greatly....

    clans = good to play with

    I have no problems with the clans, they take gameplay to the next level, and as long as your having fun, then there isn't a problem

    I find that many clanners can be complete a-holes. I'm talking about the ones who scream at people on public servers because they aren't up to their "standards" of playing skill.

    Personally, i don't want to mess with a clan. I don't have the time to mess with practices and all of that. I just like to hop onto a server whenever and play for an hour or so.

    Some people just get to serious about these games.

    screaming clanner = mentally diabled clanner, that ruins the image of clanners
    helpful clanner = nice, un noticed clanner

    i like playing WITH clans, but won't join one...

    I do like playing with them. But i won't join one. I only joined one clan for dod but basically it was just a group of guys to play with. Didn't play in any tournaments.

    I've seen a lot of people hate the clan scene for one reason or another. Some call arrogant, elitest, jerks. Some of these people do not have the talent to join a good competitive clan, some do not have the time, others are bitter has beens that had their thunder stolen <-------------- Those are the ones that hate the competitive clans the most, especially mine.

    Yes it is true some clans are arrogant, but usually the ones that are arrogant arent all that great, thats why they talk ****, its to make up for their own lack of ability. Do not let the trash talking clans make your opinion of the clan scene until you've seen all sides of it. It is not fair to base a whole scene off one clan.

    Some clans are helpful, such as my clan that help make the community better by letting other clans use our server, reviewing and critiquing demos (thats more my thing), letting people spec our scrims.

    Not all clans are bad, some are though, I cannot hide that fact. The way to deal with them is to either leave the server or just tell an admin.

    There is no reason that non clanners and clanners cant get along fine, its when people have biased opinions against ALL clanners, and when clanners have biased opinions against ALL pubbers, is when there is a problem.

    I think we will never establish peace between the non-intelligent pubbies and the non-intelligent clannies, jsut like with racism no matter what its always there, there will always be a small group talking crap about the other. Like I see it all the time in the clan community "hahaha lets go own some noobs its soo funny how newbie they are omg.... they should just quit playing RODFLOEKFOPekfwejoijflkasz!" and then in the pubby community "I HATE CLANNERS THEY ARE SO ELITEST AND OMG THEY TALK MESS AND ARE MEANIE HEADS JEBUS THEY ARE ALL A-- HOLES EVEN THAT GUY OVER THERE WITH A TAG WHO I HAVE NEVER SEEN IN MY LIFE... .STOOPID CLANNY". What ive noticed, is its just the few non-intelligent people on each side who create this "community vs community" crap.... theres really nothing to it except judging people because of what group they play with..... diffrent strokes for dif folks. 1 clan with a crappy attitude towards to public community does not reflect the attitudes of the rest of the clanning community, or at least mine.     only reason I made this thread is because I was a longtime member of dod community and there's a lot of hate between the clan community and the general community there, although recently it's been getting better. I just don't want the same situation to occur in ns.

    Well I used to have no trouble finding "good" people to play with back in the earlier versions of NS but since I recently started playing again I've yet to find a good server with talented people who cooperate and actually work as a team. Makes baby jesus cry. And also I've never been in an NS clan, so I dunno what the matches are like.

    I am a member of a stable clan (#cri). I have to admit that some times I brag a little too much. I joined a clan to get more into the game (Meaning I have more free time than most pubbers, thus I wanna maximize the experience.). There are some clans that are bad, some are good, some are.. well.. very popular. Its not the individual skill that matters in NS. Its the team, the "clan" that is 6 on 6 at those scrims, the union of those elements, that make teh clan scene = teh win. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

    mmmm watch out Firewater i got banned here for two weeks for yelling at p1 when i was in eve....
    and yes i think the clan community is lacking in loyalty but it fits the attitudes of the clanning players.... you join the best because you play to win... if your team cant keep up with your potential or you are not fully comfortable with your team you leave them for a better one.... (espeically when there are no leagues open yet, everyone is just getting settled in. After leagues start people will stop shifting around )

    thats stupid. maybe that is your attitude but that is not how teams work. you are loyal to your team and you work as a team to be better. sometimes you have to leave but you can't just keep hopping to whoever is #1 atm and rationalize it with some bs. if everyone did that, imagine how pointless competition would be. your style = wrong and not respectable. Most people have a sense of dignity and loyalty and that is what makes teamplay fun and worth the time it takes
