<div class="IPBDescription">May be useful to someone...</div> I have a Sapphire Radeon 9700 pro, and got real sloppy framerates, and as soon i alt+tabbed out or went out to the menu, the game locked up. I used Catalyst 3.2.
When i switched back to Catalyst 2.5, it worked as a charm.
Might work with other older versions too, haven't tested it.
Just thought that this might be useful for someone.
[EDIT]
You can find older drivers here : <a href='http://mirror.ati.com/support/drivers/win2karchive.html' target='_blank'>http://mirror.ati.com/support/drivers/win2...n2karchive.html</a>

Catalyst is ATI's official Radeon drivers, just as Detonator for the GeForce cards.

thanks for the heads up... i do get fubared frames as well
i get about 69 fps on a Radeon 9700 Pro... that just ain't right
The new detonator's don't work at all <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

now for my question, is radeon a british brand or something? or American? I mean, never heard of it, lol <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
[/edit] how or where can i test my framerate? I hear all you folks chatter bout it, now I wanna know what my card can do...
Or japanese
Anyway you can show FPS by typing net_graph 3 in console
net_graph 1 or 2 works to
Different looks
0 shuts it down
GeForce and Radeon's are the 2 big ones in gfx cards (go to any website or your local best buy and you will see em sitting right next to the GeForces)
Not talking to anyone here in particular - 'you' means 'everyone'. Thanks. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

I have noticed the same thing but my problems ended when I installed the 3.1 version of catalyst. Seemed to be enough.
Believe one of the big problems they ran into was a weird draw-over method used in Freelancer that they tried to fix in v3.2, but broke a bunch of other stuff in the process. Apparently it's slated to-be-fixed in Cat3.3.
1) if you are running via an out side server browser (ASE or what not) you should be able to simply hit escape and then return and get your sound back
if not Alt Tab back out (back and forth) till you get it back
or try going to the taskmanager and telling it to switc to task for HL
