Im starting some ideas with my clan... A bug-mod with gigantic bugs like these:
----------------------------
I've got reference photos for all the models if anyone is interested...
----------------------------
[Skulk] = Normal Spider
[Gorge] = Black widow Spider
[Lerk] = Killing Bees
[Fade] = Prayin Mantis
[Onos] = Big Beetle (maybe a spider too, is that possible?)
----------------------------
[Hive] = ? (maybe an bee-cube)
[Marines] = Evil bug-terminators
----------------------------
Can anyone give some ideas? <!--emo&::siege::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/siege.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='siege.gif'><!--endemo-->

Mantis / kneeler (on danish: knæler)
edit: ack, Wider was quicker
edit2: GORGE PORN!
it's a decent idea that has been thrown around before.... along with my animal idea and the robot aliens idea. I suggest going for it if your a decent enough modeller... some other plausible insects are ants and beetles. I'd say a beetle could make either a good gorge or an onos (some beetles are pretty big, with pincers) and the spider or ant idea would work well for the skulk, because they are wall climbing insects...
a dung beetle is always handy with building stuff <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->
And a spider/ant (not sure witch one to choose) for the Skulk it is for sure!!!
or am i the only modeler that would like to participate?...
[EDIT]: Its back should be raised if any modelers take over!
google image search is your friend
1st here:
Rhinoceros Beetle
<img src='http://www.csupomona.edu/~rskaae/16H.JPG' border='0' alt='user posted image'>
or Stag Beetle
<img src='http://www.coara.or.jp/~kosk/beetle/image/hirata65.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image'>
<img src='http://www.nortcoll.ac.uk/images/animals/stickinsect.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image'>
Oh NO! I will wet my pants all the time then!!!! <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
And how do you copy those vertexes/models, fx: like the legs?
BtW: Look in the upper post...
I need to know how to copy things, since Ctrl+D doesnt help anythin...
Also, to be perfectly honest, I would suggest taking the time to learn to model from scratch, rather than just hacking other models. It takes a little more time, but I guarantee you will be happier and others will be more impressed with the end result.
<!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> HaXin a model is just the easy way <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
[/EDIT]: Forget it!!!
EDIT: Oh yea I suggest a spider for the gorge, and a rhinoceros beetle like coil said for the onos.
well milkshape isnt really that a hard program to use D:
And do u use GMAX or the bought one?
You can find all of those in the Modeling 101 topic.
Shall i post a screen? (its messy but u can see the concept...)
(I hope that u understand my post! A bit messy, right?)
