    NS bots dont climb walls, web or fly, some even dont know how to use ladders.
    They have 0 Teamwork, Strategy or advanced intelligence.
    I know 3 different bots.

    We have a bot in alpha (WhichBot) that does climb walls, and does have (at least some) advanced strategy.

    Here's the release link:

    <a href='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?act=ST&f=1&t=28993' target='_blank'>http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/in...=ST&f=1&t=28993</a>

    RCBot has more features, but isn't as challenging to play against (I think, although I'm biased <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->).

    ohh that's a good argument for not looking through the sticky..... hmm or maybe it's not.
    I wonder why they made it sticky, i have this crazy idea that they made it sticky so that more people would READ it. DOOOH

    guys, the stickied bot thread is 40 pages, 591 replies long as of this post. if all you want is a link to a good up to date bot and not random updates, opinions, spam, flames, etc, etc it's not particulalrly fun to look through. IMHO there should be a locked stickied bot thread that is only updated when a new bot is released or a previous one is updated and that hulking behemoth can be released back into the wild

    Give it a few more months. As it stands none of the bots are intelligent enough, nor skilled enough to give you even a decent challenege to practice with.

    Kenichi, have you tried playing against our bot (WhichBot)?

    We've found that with just 1 or 2 human players on the alien side, there's a reasonable level of challenge for moderate-level players, and a tough challenge for beginner players. Right now the bot is still in alpha, and is going to get a lot better (hopefully).

    Marines still have an advantage, but... marines have an advantage in 1.04, and there's not a lot we can do about that.

    I will definitly give yours a shot to see how the difficulty is, the RCBot left me hanging greatly in that department. It's "skilled" players were horrible.

    awww man its metamod, that means i have to go through the crap to install that first. Ugggg there goes testing it on a simple lan server.
  • clamatiusclamatius Join Date: 2003-03-27 Member: 14948Members, Constellation
    We have a downloadable that includes metamod.

    Download it, and update the liblist.gam to point to metamod.dll instead of ns.dll, and that's it.

    See, I thought of that <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
