Don't you just hate how blizzard always changes the zergling models?

I still think that the front leg blades are way too fat, and that the feet could be widened a little. Other than that, it's good.

    It's beautiful.

I still dislike how there are about...5 different styles of zergling I've seen before, and all from blizzard. Compare them from the CG videos, then the game portraits, then the SC:Ghost ones, they need to stick with a final one

Let's just hope we get some very nice animations going, like when it's moving, the back arms kinda bounce, and the body itself does the same as well. Just a heck of a lot of little stuff that I've seen a lot of models fall short from. Hope we get a good skin too.

When a zergling attacks it springs forward on its rear legs and slashes down with its claws... I was playin starcraft and thats what it looks like.

Note: please make all animation comments in this thread; this thread should be for skinning only.

Personally, I wish I didn't have a thesis to write; I'd love to try skinning this puppy.

lol and to think you did that using the skulk model!

that is really good man! nice work! couple suggestions tho: i agree on the arm/slasher things being a little too wide... if you could skinny them up a bit it'd look perfect. also, i think the back legs should be a bit thinner too. they just look incredibly thick; the upper part looks okay i guess but at least thin up the bottom a bit. but besides my picky taste the model is perfect! screw waiting for the other zergling! this one's great!

    two thumbs up!!!!

this can't be done, because the dorsal appendages are used in attack animations, so it can not be used in movement animation. This is the limitation of half life engine.

My only concern s that it uses around twice as many polys as the default skulk, so having a bunch of them on screen will be (even more) deadly.

But do the guns have an actual fire animation, or just a muzzleflash? sprite != animation, so that could explain why its possible.

I think I'll have a try at skinning your Zergling model. I don't guarantee it will be finished (depends on how it looks) tho so you might want to get another skinner also.

As I posted in the animation thread, I really think this model could use some face optimization, edge turning, and vertex repositioning (for joint flexibility) before anyone starts animating or skinning it. /: The general appearance is good - it just needs polish. Any intention of doing that, therougeknight?
