Help Populate Server

Hey all,
We have recently set up a new server that I'm trying to get populated. Its a P4 2.66 box with 1GB of double DDR RAM, hosted on a fiber connection that has 6 redundant connections to various backbones. It is located in Dallas, TX, but we have had people in cali ping in the 40's, canada ping in the low 100's, and pretty much everyone in texas pings between 30 and 70.

It has these plugins installed
Medarmory: armory gives out health slowly to nearby marines
audiotracking: marines have a sonar style radar system to know about nearby aliens (but aliens can hear it when in use and use it to locate marines as well)
Statusbar: team mates can look at each other and see the health/armor/res of their team
Also, it has various anti-cheating software as well

It is an 18 player server, and right now most of the players are either members of my clan, or random n00bs and we're looking to change that. So, if you're looking for a good server to start playing on, join us

    Yeah, it pings well. Its at the infomart in dallas. If you don't know what that is, basically it is a major crossroads for internet backbones.

    Wouldn't this belong better in the 'Servers and Server Operators' forum?

    And I'd join, if it weren't for the med-armory plugin. HATE that thing, regardless of which side I'm playing on, and if I'm Comm or a grunt when I'm on the Marines.

    I assumed this would be the best forum, since 90% of the "servers & ops" forum are server ops... so why would they be interested in joining a new server? Why does medarmory bother you so much? It heals you 2hp per tick, which takes forever to heal you totally, but keeps people from camping in the base with 88hp yelling at the comm to give them a medpack while fades are pounding the base.

    guys if you need to populate a server, get a few friends and play in it for a while. People will start joining, and eventually you will get regulars. I just put up a server a few days ago and its populating self already(at night, still empty in the morning).

    I've already done this, and just like your case, its kinda working. I am basically trying to get a few people who aren't newbies to play (which is why i'm asking here). My server fills up some nights, doesn't others, but when its all newbies the level of gameplay isn't that great. If I can get a few people from here who ping well, and good teamplay then i'll be happy.

    Just set it up and give it some time.
    My clan had one server and it soon had a decent amount of regulers. 66.28.238.21:27025 :3am: big apple ownage NS v1.04

    Now, we have 2 servers and we are already filling both up with the over flow from the first server. 66.28.238.15:27015 :3am: big apple ownage 2 NS v1.04

    Both are a run real good, but I think that the 2nd server runs more competative games.

    If you got the right connection and hardware, it will soon be jammed filled.
