<div class="IPBDescription">or shut that door</div> Here's a strat that's created with nancy in mind.
While guarding messhall have one skulk stand infront of the door button but on the other side of the room. When an unlucky marine walks in thruw the door parasite the button and sidestep behind the counter to hide from fire. The other skulks in the room has now a "free" lunch. This is to force the marines to fight close combat and alone.
Don't know if there is other sutiable places to do it in other maps. The area outside engine in nancy would also work but since it's so bright the marines have a bit of an edge.

    what if the marines employ this strategy as well, with one marine as bait, and a few others as "snipers"

    But the question is if it would make any diffrence. There would still be one marine trapped inside of messhall.
    But my placement of the skulk is just a suggestion. It's an easy position to shoot from and you have relativly good shelter close by and is not far from the action. I say relativly since you can because of the hitboxes shoot an alien even if he is behind the counter

    But a skulk could be allmost anywhere in the room and shoot that button and then it won't matter if the marines are ready or not.

    One way for the mariens to counter is to place 2 marines infront of the door and let them both go in at the same time. Their odds will go up a bit but now they are figthing close combat where aliens should be better. At least in messhall.

    There is a counter for everything but you should allways force the enemy to fight on your terms.

    Theres a vent on the ceiling, just before the doors, hide in the vent, and when you hear the doors being triggered, come down and bite the marines from behind.

    I got crushed by a door on this map playing as an alien once. It wasn't the mess door, but the one right outside Auxilery Generator (or whatever that one room by Port Engine is). I parasited the switch and tried to get through before it closed. Needless to say, from now on, I close the door after I'm safely through it. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Just keep in mind, you can also kill marines and especially onos in those doors. Takes a bit of practice, but is always very helpful.

    Was funny yesterday... some skulks tried it on me (was about 4 of em). I knew they were in there but i decided to be the sacrifice and charged in first, the door was shut behind me, all of them rushed while i jumped madly across the room, 1sec later the door was open with 3 marines opening fire <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    If you have REALLY low lag and a REALLY good FPS, you can close doors on Onos when you comm.

    1 time, in band camp...

    anyway, 1 time we got 3rd hive on nancy, me and this geezer went onos at same time then decided to rush, we got to the doors near that RT but we got stuck half way through becuase of a gorge.
    well this gorge refused to move while we was yelling at this ****, then a marine stolls over and closes the door on BOTH us onos, i beleive the FATTEH was a spy <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->


    sometimes on nancy inside mess hall i play crush the skulkys, i sit on the counter and wait for skulks to come and see if i can trpa them with the door, so far ive killed 6 skulks and 4 lerks so far. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

    I saw this strategy used to great effectiveness in an almost movie-like scene.

    There were 3 marines, myself and two other soldiers. We were moving out of the Marine Start through the double doors through the left hallway, when we saw a skulk on motion tracking. The skulk, seeing all of us coming, ran on the wall above the double doors, and sat on the button.
    One unfortunate Frontiersman, ran ahead to go cap the skulk. The other soldier and I shouted at him to come back. As soon as he passed the threshold of the door, the skulk hit the button and proceeded to start attacking the hapless marine. The first soldier and I ran towards the door, but by the time we got there, it had already shut beyond the point of ducking through.
    All the other Frontiersman and I could do, was listen to the marine firing for all he was worth and the skulk trying to bite his head off.
    I furiously pounded on the button to try to open the door in time, but it was to no avail. By the time the other soldier and I got the door open, we were greeted by our friends corpse, and the second set of double doors closing in front of us.
