Could You "seige" With Healing Spray

<div class="IPBDescription">I've been wondering about this</div> if you have a pack of gorges, say 4-5, and they can get in a vent close to marine base, is it possible to use the 400 range that the healing spray has to do a alien seige of the marine base?

think about it, HS does 16 damage, pair that with a couple (couple of pairs) of gorges...

this rather humerous idea has been running rampant thru my brain, is it possible?

    a common Strategy on clanmatches seems to be "double gorging"
    2 gorges running parallel healspraying nonstop.
    -> slow moving long range attack and defense support that is hard to kill.

    everything else is called "gorge rush" and works fine when every gorge acts as part of the team.

    Healpray range is large but not as large as siege range.

    If you're talking about sieging as in through walls, no. Otherwise yeah I suppose it's possible. It's just a rather unorthodox strategy that has no real purpose other than humor.

    i believe that last time i checked healing spray was not affecting marine buildings, only the spit was.

    Yes, heal spray does 0 damage to buildings. Gorge rushing in heal spraying can quite effectivly clear marines, and plonking down even 1 oc from each gorge will effectly destroy many marine bases. 400 is actually a quite long range; of course to use it well you really need adren because of the high energy cost.

    No, Healing Spray works just fine on HA. I've killed many rambo HA's with a little web and healspray.

    Umm, wasn't the #400 for the range on the Gorge Heal Spray a typo? I'm pretty sure it is, because if it wasn't there would be people using it non-stop and gorges would really be overpowered. I believe the range is anything is that it's 4 to 40. This has been discussed a LONG time ago.

    No matter how far or little range the heal spray has. A gorge can not win by a surpise attack.

    Best surprise attack ever on a gorge:
    About 2-3 nights ago on Tanith. Marines relocated to Waste Handling and lots of got killed at once. Commander does Distress Beacon and everbody who was dead started at the original Marine spawn (6-10 marines came alive again) only to see a Gorge working on a RT. Lol poor thing. It heard the spawn noise..it slowly turned to it's right and got met by several hundred rounds of LMG fire -ROFL omg that was the best gorge kill ever hehe-

    gorge heal spray is much farther than it appears to be, it's probably 40 units though.

    is it just me, or is Nem awesome?

    I know that the gorge rush is something very cool, and a few gorges in a vent w/ adren and babblers annoys and eventually (long time) over powers the marines in the end.
    I'm think of this as a 2 hive strategy, not w/ babblers or onos, etc.

    A gorge can be a very potent weapon. never underestimate a gorge.

    how far does healing spray go?
    can I get a mod/dev/ to comment on this as they can say for sure?

    The gorge range is 400, however, 100 = lenght of a gorge, so 400 is only the length of 4 gorges, so roughly 5-6 meters, i dont think heal spray is effective through walls/vents, so your idea of sieging with heal-spray wouldn't work <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->

    p.s. I think it says that heal-spray has effect through walls/vents but whenever ive tried to heal aliens inside vents it hasnt worked...

    Heal Spray is better in almost all situations except having the bad luck of being half way along a long halfway and seeing a marine pop up at the other end or similar situations. (I did once kill a marine with spit alone at Viaduct hive, but he was stupid, kept popping up in my LOS and trying to pop me with his LMG while is just got healed by a DC around the corner) Healspray requires almost no aiming, does constant medium damage and is perfect for a circle strafing w\ jumps around a uncorridnated rine. Not to mention if a skulk jumps in to help you are now your healing the friendly (who's probably taking bullets for you) and damaging the enemy.

    Hit spray usually doesn't do **** to you if you are a Marine. One time I had a gorge oh lets say about 15-20 ft away from me firing spit and we where both standing still. I never took any damage, another time on Hera a gorge was 5ft from me with spit. Took no damage, lol.

    healing spray is way underused in generall, it it basically like a hitscan "shotgun" because it hits waay more than you can see (I.E. above and around you) so with it you can literally "spray and pray"

    The gorge shouldn't really be in combat. Besides, when web is available, it's so hard to kill a good gorge. That's why I think that the heal spray should just heal. Maybe make the spit slightly more powerful. It takes 0 skill to hit with heal as it's an area effect. The lerk doesn't get this ability till 2nd hive and even then it's only a defensive thing. Silly stuff.
