<div class="IPBDescription">ala Metroid Prime</div> I would love to see a hud like the one in Metroid Prime, not nessisarily with the same special effects but curved to give the impression of wearing a visor.

i was actualy thinking of posting this myself looks like i aint the only metroid fan here you could even have a skin set really i mean samus aran as normal marine and fusion armour (metroid and samas fused) for heavy (its kinda pruple) it would be pretty sweeet and then all the weps could so in samus arm all enemies could be that off game easy

yeah a visour would be cool plus the fack the standard marine skin has 1 on
i dont think a coped layout of metroid's would'nt really fit in so make a totalily new 1 <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'>
and make to hud all fit into place inside it

my god even the offical medtoid site has a visor like hud

It wouldnt be impossible, a skilled artist could produce a hud like that easy. just create a curved surface to create the impression of it being round.
BTW ive never played metroid prime, just seen it being played and the hud was brilliant. It would also fit in with NS, as has been stated above.

Why should it be impossible.

The hud dont need to be 3d just look like it where.

Though I think the hud should be just a little more bent than the MP hud to make it look even more lik a visor thingie.

Thats what i was thinking.
IMO it should take up approximately the same ammount of space as the Metroid one, although it should be transparent so as not to disadvantage people.

nope..impossible..because the default hud sprites you have to edit are just covering the upper side of the screen.. you cant make the hud bigger as te original one... ive tried a different full screen hud by myself

u can make it, you just gotta work with what u got, you could prolly get one with the same sort of theme/look to that, but you would never be able to fully reproduce it.

went for the metroid theme, dunno if i acheived anything here is a shot

redid the upper and lower parts of the HUD, looks ok in alien view as well

Too much space between the 5 and the 0 on the ammo counter. Looks cool.
