Where Are All The Clans?

<div class="IPBDescription">Getting connected...</div> I've seen so many clans for NS just like any other game but have not seen them compete in any leagues (that i know of) or seen them in IRC. I'm just curious on what type of clans I am seeing out there, wearing a tag from another game into NS? Are you competitive? Are you using ICQ or AIM to get connected?

If you are one of those "clueless" clans that want to become a part of the "competitive/NS community" while it is still young I recommend you get plugged into it via IRC. The advantages of IRC are enormous, you can have your own clan channel for other pubber's or other clannies to chill with you in, your own priv chan, there is a #findnsscrim channel there that you can join to find a scrim almost anytime of the day. Anyways maybe not all clans are looking to get connected some are just there to pub and have some fun every now and then, which is cool.

For those of you interested in mIRC go to www.mirc.com download it, and connected to irc.gamesnet.net. Then go to #support and get your own clan channel registered. A few channels to check out are #findnsscrim, #archives, and ofcourse #pandas (cause everyone loves those furry guys).

Post your thoughts and opinions.

    I found/am finding that joining a clan improves team skills, gives you people you know to play with and in the unlickly event of you being called into service fighting for a reason.

    WOW, come by and play with some real good NS players. We have some of the best.

    And your probally right. Look at those who play on our servers. They think that our modz kick arse.

    Natural Selection Statistics
    ? 10903 players and 1170 clans ranked on 3 servers.
    ? Last kill 09:31:04 PM, Mon. 7 Apr.
    ? All statistics are generated in real-time. Event history data expires after 7 days

    You just dissed 11,000 players, and 1170 clans.

    Sorry to crap in your cereal, but those clan numbers aren't even half right. Most of them are probably made up tags or "clans" that don't even have any organization, just a few people with the same tag. Eleven thousand players? Sounds like a majority of the people who play NS play on Voogru consistently...

    Who knew?

    The Voogru game is modified. That means that you can keep you jetpack rushing tactics for CAL (aka Jetpack 24-7)

    Voogru mods should be tried before dissing them. His mods are no more than several changes coming out in 1.1 although they are not exact in some ways. Voogru has spent a lot of time tweaking these mods, and those of us that play NS frequently believe they have greatly enchanced gameplay without sacrificing the original game flavor.

    There will be far more changes in the upcoming 1.1 client update that many people will eventually say "ruins" the original game. Flayra and Voogru, although different efforts, are both working hard to improve NS. We should all be grateful for their efforts.

    I guess it depends on where abouts in the world you and your clan are, if your from europe then <a href='http://www.clanbase.com' target='_blank'>clanbase</a> is probably the best place to start, although its a ladder not a league, the only other league in europe that im aware of is the mpuknsl <a href='http://www.d-com.org' target='_blank'>mpuknsl</a>. As for other areas of the world i really dont know where you would start.

    QRGR live on quakenet (#qrgr), as do a lot of UK-based clans. We came to NS from CS and DoD, but took on a lot of new members when NS came out because we're, like, uber popular, or something.

    If anyone wants to challenge us (we're mostly a "fun" clan - so no challenges from "leet" clans please) feel free to pop into our channel on qnet and chat with Bugstomper, Petru, or Yoshimo. In fact please, I'm begging you, challenge us ... we don't get enough NS games at the moment for some reason. <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->

    The clan base in NS does seem a little weak, maybe its becasue we are hogging up all the player resources lol. We dont do competitions, tryouts, or that other clan stuff, we are just a bunch of guys who like to play NS as a team, have fun, and reap the victory benefits of teamwork. We promote fun, cooperation, and education to those new to NS.
    We currently have 40 people so far from all over the world. Yea our site isnt the best but our forums are up now and will soon be getting a new look.

    www.shrikesoftware.com/tsa

    Our tag goes at the end of our name so dont get us confused with the other TSA clans. -TSA[x] x is a letter that tells the commander and team what that player does best at.

    e= engineer
    a= assault
    c= commander
    r= recon
    So if anyone sees us say hi. We try to split up when we play in public servers, team staking isnt fun.
    And we dont blame the comms for everything either. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Our clan (I will not mention its name) has skilled players when it comes to HL mods, some of them really love NS. We have clan matches in CS, FLF, DoD etc. but not in NS. It might be that noone really has time to arrange a match anymore, and noone has time to prep strategy and tactics for different maps in NS. As you all know this is not a team deathmatch-mod. In all, we are used to have lots of practise match and strategy rehearsal sessions before we start to play in a leaque or ladder, now we haven't had neither of them. It's a sad sad thing.

    tbZ started as a CS clan but to our delight we have discovered that we are too lazy to do ANYTHING. Its more like a social club now. I'm the only member that actively plays NS. There's no point coming to quakenet #tbz and challenging us, we're all old and have children. Or there'll be something good on telly.

    Try #findscrim theres probably representitives from 100 different clans there right now. . .

    100 clans in #findnsscrim!! I'd say more like 25. It is the best place to go though. That's were you will find all the top clans. If you want to find a scrim that is where you want to go.

    Problem with CAL, is to many teams win by forfeit.

    CAL has a great idea, no way to implement an effective LADDER game. And that can also be said for the other 2.

    To be fair QRGR qn tbZ have a fairly long and friendly history. I think it was they that introduced us to NS. It was gentle leg pulling, and "in" jokes I'm afraid.

    It depends what type of clan your looking for.

    Xeno^, (Somehow I ended up the clan leader after some major problems.) is more focused on the fun side more than the competitive side of NS.

    We decided this after we realised that if you play competively NS isn't fun anymore. So we decided to do the scrim thing. So I think I may have to arrange a match with QRGR at some point! They seem to have the same idea as we do!

    The only problem, we need more members...

    And please lets stop this thread from becoming a "I h4t3 v00gru!" thread.
