What's Your Favorite Cheap And Easy Food?

I'm hungry
After living off the same stuff for 7 months, I need some new suggestions.
Current favorites: Ramen noodles, various generic mac and cheese, Marshmellow Stars (excellent lucky charms ripoff), canned ravioli (kinda expensive though), PB&J sandwiches, bagels, and the weekly tacos.
What else should I add to my menu?
(good snack foods are also welcome.)

Comments
- 1 small pita per person (approx. 6"-8" each in diameter)
- 1 small can of pizza sauce
- add whatever toppings you like or have available
Put it in the oven at 400C, but watch it every few minutes and take it out when it's ready.
You can put the toppings either on top or inside the pita, but I find it sometimes gets a big soggy if everything is inside. It takes less than 15 minutes total, it's easy to make, and it's fairly cheap (depending on your choice of toppings).
One pack of Tortilla chips
one jar of dipping salsa
grated cheese
salt and pepper
cheap beer
Empty the chips onto a plate, drop the salsa over the top, so its fairly even. Sprinkle with cheese and seasonings. Microwave for 1-2 minutes. Drink the beer.
The chips will soack up some of the sauce,a nd some may be soggy (not quite so good) but a lot will be covered in melted cheese (top stuff). It might work under a grill/
i suggest jalepnos and tobasco suace to make it taste good oh and onion helps a bit too:)
ramen has been covered
i also would suggest delivery pizza because in most towns that have a day where pizza is cheeper than beer by weight:)
Sometimes I order Sweet and Sour wings too
get a friend who has a sam's club/costco/price club card and bum a ride with them.
Pick up:
1) Pasta
2) frozen microwavable goodies
more things:
1) Jiffy corn muffin mix (turn it into cron pancakes and the rock arse)
and finaly PASTA PANCAKE!:
1) get your Pound of Pasta, cook it
2) pop it in the fridge with some olive oil to chill it (not sure why but this helps and the oil keeps it from sticking together)
3) beat: 3 eggs, some parmigiano reggiano, grated duh (aka parmegian cheese), garlic, S&P and herbs and spices that you like
4) toss the egg mix ontop of the pasta and toss it till all of the pasta is covered
5) get a big old pan that can fit a pound of pasta and throw it in (if you don't have a large enugh pan just do a few batches in smaller pans)
6) Cook till browned on one side, flip and repeate
server with Red Sauce. This should also make enugh for leftovers (unless you eat like I do). So yah its sorta long, but it is low work and will probably server you for a few meals.
Oh and don't just chuck all of the ramen and Mac And cheese (2 of my favs ;D)
for mac and chese: Thaw some frozen peas and throw em in with it (It tastes GREAT and it is better for you ;D)
for Ramen:
Carots, peas, garlic, watter chesnuts (if you can get em), chives WHAT EVER just toss some veggies in there and you now have an actual meal (I eat like 2 paks of ramen prepared like this or one pack and like 3/4s of a thing of mac and cheese)
Hehe, During January my college does not provide food (you don't have to stay on campus) So My GF and I cooked for our selves, it was great (then again my GF is also great at cooking)

sushi or, if u dont like fish, california rolls. They are expensive but they are teh win especially with a trace of wasabi.
Also, try making a dip in a casserole dish with a small layer of cream cheese, a layer of salsa on top, and add lettuce and olives; its teh best nacho dip evAr!!
Works for me.. takes like 15 minutes.
1 Short French Baguette*
3/4 Tin of pre-chopped tomatoes
Some Tomato Puree
1 Thing of cheese. Preferably pre-grated and mozerella.
1/2 Tin of pineapple chunks in their own juice
2 Slices of Smoked Ham
Some Olive oil
Seasonings (Basil, Italian Herbs)
Preheat grill to high.
Slice Baguette lengthways horizontally.
Put 3/4 of the tin of tomatoes into a pan, and simmer on a medium heat, stirring occaisionly, and also smashing with a fork every so often until the tomato looks thoroughly dead. Add Some Tomato Puree, 1/4 of a glass of pineapple juice, and 4 pinches of herby things into the pan. Stir, whilst simmering down to a semi-concentrate. Cover open baguette halves with the result liberally.
Massacre tomato-covered-bread with Grated cheese.
Cut the ham into thin strips (or tear bits off randomly), and layer evenly over the cheese.
Cut pinapple chunks into halves, then lay onto the top delicately, in a pretty pattern.
Dribble a bit of olive oil and also a bit of Pineapple juice over the top. Sprinkle with seasonings.
Place on a baking tray, then put under the grill for approx 10 minutes, or until the cheese starts to turn golden, or until flames start appearing, whichever happens first.
Eat with Coca Cola.
Serves 1 (Or 2 midgets)
Prep time: 10 minutes.
Cook time: 10 minutes.
Eating time: 15 minutes.
*Baguette related notes: A baguette is a long stick of french bread.
For this recipe, I recommend one about 10 inches long for 1 person. Or you can buy a big one, and use half for the pizza, and half for a Baguette of Meaty Dewm (recipe will be sure to arrive sometime, me and Mart exist mostly on these) later in the day. Make sure that the bread is not a part-baked baguette. Extremely crusty baguettes work less well than those that are slightly soft, because they will crisp up when under the grill. If you do use part-baked ones, bake them to approx 80% of the recommended time before using for this recipe.
I don't get it, how can you people stand 'hawian pizza' (comon term for pizza topped with pinaple and ham)
BLECH!
hehe, the meaty dewm sounds promising though (so long as there is no pinaple ;D)
I'm also liking Beast's chips and cheese and salsa thing, too. You can't go wrong with chips and some decent salsa. I eat a lot of chips and salsa, cause it's just so good.
Usually, though, I just pop open a box of whatever happens to be in the cupboard. Like Cheezits, or Goldfish. Add some soda to that and you've got a really lazy snack.
1 loaf of bread (a week)
Mayonnaise (a few months)
Salami or any other cold meat (about on average week)
And lettuce (can last about 3 weeks)
Macaroni and cheese under 2 buck at aus
All you need to do is add a bit of milk and spoon of butter (read the packet)
Microwave for about ten
It’s just over enough for 1 person (and for me that says a lot)
Well there is some ideas
Mmmmm, hawiian pizza is faah-boolus. I find it to be a great change from the typical 'all-meat' pizzas.
Soft chunks of ham, a generous spread of pineapple, and several layers of three kinds of cheese....
/me hastily wipes drool off the keyboard
City water tastes like dirt, nothing like well or srping water, yummy.
hawaiian pizza rox0rz!

(The pic happens to be from daisybrand sourcreamsubstitute something, so thats why there is a huge heap of sourcream on top of that one. Dont use that much )
