Folks, really, I would've expected better from you. Anime is an art form. NGE has more cultural value than 90% of the 'fine art' movies out there. Sadamoto put even some pretty smart attacks against the whole hentai scene that inevitably forms around each and every Gainax production in the series (the 'relationship' between Misato and Shinji, p.e.). The fact that some idiots started drawing pictures of the characters in compromising positions doesn't change a damn thing about this.
And as for the way females are drawn in many mid-90s animes - of course it's sexist, of course it's unrealistic as hell. But show me <i>one</i> Hollywood boss who'd refuse the opportunity of getting such actresses in his flicks.
