I reply with "Yup, I have h4x." whenever anyone accuses me. Saves on time, and is the only thing that shuts them up. If you say you don't, you just get a flame starter on your back. Maybe this guy did the same thing?

I'm very strict about cheating. Even if it's to get "even" with a hacker. I'd ban him and you both. If you wanted to test it should do it on a lan.
Smarter thing to do would have been to get his WonID, go to the server's forum or IRC chan, post his name/WonID/IP and have him blacklisted. Not like he can't change his wonid but most cheaters have multiple wonid's since they get banned often. If you have a stats page, it's easy to narrow down cheaters. Look who keeps switchin wonid's for the same alias.
Cheating a cheater won't amount to anything. It'll come down to who has the "newer better" version of some lame hack and you can imagine the llama war that ensues. Then it's free perm bans for everyone but mabye it's just me. I hate cheaters with a passion.

the stance of most places is
u use cheats = u is banned forever on those servers no matter what the reason. u cheated face the consequences.
u have a cheat on a server just leave and find another...
better yet get a demo and take a screeney of his wonid passit on to the admins... if he cheats he will be banned.
"he cheats so i will too" attitude only makes more ppl cheat.
