how long was your longest round?
I've been playing ns since just after 1.03 came out and since then I've played quite a few epic games. There's been at least three that were 2 hours and one was close to 3 hours (aliens had fades for over an hour and still lost in the end). I've asked a few people how long theyve played for and some of them claim to have played 5 hour rounds! I was just wondering, what's the longest round you've played in (on a public server with random players, not a round u decided to make last for ages)?

BTW, in my 3 hour game, i was comm on ns_nothing and after about 30 minutes we had to relocate to cargo bay, the alines had fades for over an hour and we still managed to keep 3 res towers and eventually HA/HMG their hives. It was great fun.
I dont think the 5 hour game is a lie, i know the people who told me about them and they wouldnt lie about something like that.
Those are the games I love and tell my NS playing co-workers about for days...
That and my brushes with greatness, MonsE etc..
Longest game I had lasted one hour, and was not really epic, merely the combination of people leaving the server, people joining, and stupidness. If you have a server where epic games are not incredibly rare - pm me, I want to know
Some of the PT games went on for quite a number of hours. was having too much fun to stop and count them though.
....
Maybe it's just me....
We refused to give up. We kept taking over hives, while they would siege and send heavy team after heavy team into our hives. We got onos a few times, and we eventually were confined to engine room hive. We eventually won the game by sneaking into their main base time after time, eating the 6+turrets around the command console, eating the siege in main, and placing a WOL inside the raised platform that leads to the com console. The com ejected, and the console was killed. It was then a LONG matter of time to eat their spawn portals, and an ever LONGER amount of time to kill the 3 heavies that had baracaded themselves inside of feedwater.
This was the most ANNOYING game I have ever played. It lasted from 6 PM until nearly 3 AM.....
More recently I remember haveing a realy realy long (3-4 hours?) game with 1.03-1.04 where we build 6-7 hives. Damned Jambos! We finaly managed to kill the jetpacker and quish the remaneing marines. Man that was a fun game.
I've found that length doesnt realy corrilate with entertainment or epicness (is that even a word? well I gess it is now). I've had games that where (only!) 1-1.5 hours long that were realy incredible. I can't beleave we actualy managed to win that one. At one point it was skulks vs HAHMG since we didnt have enough res to go fade. That must have been the most exiteing game I've played in the last 2 months. I think the fact that we had 2 PTers and a fair number of other skilled players realy helped the epicness of the game. Nothing like 7-8 good players vs 7-8 good players for a realy fun game.
Four wopping hours on ns_lost
my final score. A whopping 0- something above 50. I destroyed TONS of bases but never a livning object.
Amazing how that happened cause there was constant fighting for the last three hours and my one teamate ended up with a wopping 5 kills.
4 hours and the aliens total was 5 kills. amazing.
