Do Anybody Still Use The Pistol As The Only Weapon

  I like using the pistol but not as my only weapon. For skulks, they need to try and get near you and for that you usually need a lmg because at close range it's pretty acurate and you can pump much more lead into the aliens with it. Pistol is kinda like a sniper rifle.

  I use my pistol as kind of a "first strike" weapon in long hallways/big rooms. Basically, I find it's good for stoftening up 1 or a small group of skulks before you whip out the lmg once your mag is dry. After that just spray them and most of them usually end up dead or weakened enough to knife the straggler <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

  Its terribly accurate but lacks the ammo required to take down another skulk.
  
  
  With a level 3 weapons upgrade, you need 5 shots into a carapaced skulk to kill it.

  There are so many threads on this I don't even want to try to count.
  
  There is no point in using ONLY a pistol, unless you like playing with a hard tied behind your back. Using your pistol first is perfectly reasonable at range, and the lmg is good for close quarters combat. Choose the weapon according to the situation.

  I use pistol to take down pests, like a lerk or a damn skulk that keep on parasiting you. The thing is if you use LMG on a lerk in long distance, you will more than likely fail. But with a pistol you can fire it fast before they can get away.

  I tend to move with my pistol out switching to my LMG when i go round coners, pass vents and other places where skulks try to get the (lit) drop on you. Pistol does mad damage but like has been said it only has enough ammo for one or two kills.

  It depends. Sometimes if I have my LMG out already and a skulk charges me I won't bother to switch to pistol first. On the rare occasions that my LMG clip didn't kill ehte skulk(s), my pistol clip USUALLY finishes them off. The pistol is kinda like a shotgun with 20-damage pellets (and with only 4 blasts!) Once I was ambushed by 3 skulks and I was madly shooting with my LMG, not killing even one of them somehow after emptying my clip. I thought I was dead meat, but I figured maybe I could take one down with my pistol. I whipped out the pistol and just rapidly pressed mouse1. The skulks somehow all ran into my line of fire and the 3 skulks died to one pistol clip! I was pretty happy but then one last skulk got me from behind. Everybody laughed though.

  when running around or at close range its all lmg. I can take out 3-4 skulks with one lmg clip and take the rest out with the pistol its just how it works for me.(carapaced skulks are a little harder tho probobly 1 to 2 with lmg and another 2 with pistol)
