<div class="IPBDescription">Also applies to Eclipse 1.1</div> I've spent the last day playing around with lighting compiles in Veil, and the same parameters and settings will be passed back over to Eclipse. The end result in Veil is as follows:

This is a central resource nozzle in Veil - it is the resurrection of the old Eclipse marine spawn as seen in the NS installer. I'm going to run a full compile of Eclipse overnight with the new settings and see how it turns out. Looks to be a much darker, more intimidating feel throughout.

That looks really, really impressive <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> Cant believe the things your doing with the HL engine KFS <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
Don't worry, I hope to jazz up Eclipse quite a bit in the process of doing this. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> There are definitely some darker areas I'm worried about, and I'll be toying around with some extra accent lighting to compensate for any areas that get -too- dark.
We are hoping to see a change in 1.1 skulk wallwalking anyway.
Just one *very small* thing; the "grate" that is on the support_lab3 texture is cut by a diagonal polygon, looks a bit weird in my opinion, compared to the rest that is perfect work.
Piccie:
i dig~
The light on the walls make it look very good.
One suggestion: that ceiling is the perfect spot to put in a vent so skulks can drop on unsuspecting marine's head. Add a few wires, it's gonna be perfect.
Way to go man.
Keep up the good work.
You think I'd do it any other way? <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->
Accidentally botched the Eclipse compile, unfortunately. Problems with the overlay tool resulted in some ugly after-effects. My own damn fault, though. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

No... but you've always got a few tricks up you sleeves so we can never be sure with what you're gonna hit us with next. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
I still remember when that was the Eclipse marine spawn. Ahh, nostalgia... <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
It looks orgasmic, as always. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
seriously though it looks pretty cool, keep up the good work.
gah, can't see work that is porported to r0x0r, very annoying
someone please PM me when it's back up
Care to share what these "settings" you're using are? I'm guessing -smooth and -bounce?

So true. I swear, the next time I hear someone say a map looks "just like Eclipse" because it uses the wall_lab textures, I'm going to reach through my monitor and strangle them. <!--emo&:angry:--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/mad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='mad.gif'><!--endemo-->

which maps of yours can make it in with a release?
But i only used them in the marine spawn and the main junction of the map (think holoroom in hera). Besides that, i use the texture scheme of the cargo area of ns_nothing.

wow.. someone <i>really</i> has a hard time detecting sarcasm. if i didn't point it out enough when i says "seriously though," at least the ""elite" speak" would have given it away. in case you think i was serious: i know this is a sequel to eclipse, i know its the same author.
back to the topic though, i hope the whole map looks as good as that kfs <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->
