NoKtuRnaL: To convert a demo to a movie file, you would use the console command startmovie [name] [frame rate] while playing a demo to turn each frame into a BMP file (that's how VALVe designed it). From there you would type stopmovie to stop converting to BMPs. After that, you can use any video editor (VideoMach does a good job in terms of handling multiple image files) to render it into a video.

for anyone who can't open the link just by clicking on it, I found this fix. Copy the link location, open WMP, go to File, and select Open URL (or ctrl+U, whatever that means) and paste the link. Voila!

When I try to play this, the video locks up about seven seconds into the movie, while the sound keeps going. I've tried both the original link and the mirror, and I've tried it with WMP and the Divx player.
