<div class="IPBDescription">screw the devour stuff?</div> i think it's very disgusting for the ns team to implement the devour thing. it's already scary seeing a fade slashing it's claws at marines already, now you want to see an onos truely eating you up (think of all that human blood)...
i may be wrong but until then, i think the ns team implemeting the devouring ability for the onos is a very disgusting mistake.

Note: I am not making fun of Enemy at the Gates.
Personally myself, I am not a fan of this new "Devour" ability. I feel that it will be very unfair for the Marines. Especially the Stun technique that is added. Webs is strong enough, and if the Stun (stomp) technique effects JP people when they are airborn...then I'm probably leaving NS. I just feel that it's an unfair and TOO much of an advantage for the alien team. I guarantee you that people will start binding keys to "kill." Or Marines will just be pressing f4 5x more often. Bad...VERY bad choice of a new skill to add in Flayra. But that's my 2 cents..so I guess we'll have to wait and see until the patch is released.

Best Counter to Onos Devour will now be F4 LOL.
Hmm..would be nice if you had mines on you..and you got devoured..that you would be able to place mines inside the gut of the Onos..it will kill the Onos instantly, but at the same time..kill the marine..even with full HP/AP...or maybe a slight percentage on living for the marine.
so its probably just on the ground.......basicallt its like old paralysis but only works on ground ......thats my guess at least
I'm not swayed by any arguments I've yet heard against Devour. It has been very thoroughly discussed already and TBH it is going to pwn j00 all.
2 more points.
1) Paralyse/Stun will not <i>effect</i> jetpackers. It might however <i>affect</i> them.
2) What about hive abilities. Devour is not likely to be available at one hive, so the aliens will still have to gain 2 or 3 hives to be able to use it, even though onos will be "available" at first hive.

The onos will have to stun+devour to kill a marine, it takes a bit of time to devour them before he can get another one.
That is if they are sticking with the plan to try out all aliens available at 1 hive.

Actually I think a charging Onos is much much more bloodier than an onos eating a lone marine.
I mean really.. think of a roaring Onos running at 60+MPH smashing down turrets, quickly smashing a light armor LMG marine under his feet as he's thrusting his horn into the nearest heavy armor marine just to lift him up and throw him across the room and then ram into a command chair so hard the commander inside it gets dizzy.
