Here is how it goes.
Usually in early games. I´m out exploring while the rest of the team is busy securing this and that somewhere else. I get to what is a known key location but I do not report in yet because I heard some clatter of little paws nearby. Instead I hide in a dark corner waiting for them to go away.
The commander allways come to the conclusion that the reason for me being in that dark corner is because I think this is an excellent place to build. The ideá that I might be hiding never occurs to him.

It usually goes like this.

Comm: Get ready to phase to <keylocation>!
Me: <realising I´m the only marine there> NO!! wait!!
*Ka-pumf* Phasegate pops up in a not so sublte fashion.
Alien1: Huh?
Alien2: Rawr?
Alien3: RAWR!!!!
Me: Hehehe.. nice doggys.. I have some treats for you.
All except comm: RAWR,CHOMP,OMG!!,TEAR,BITE,OH DEAR!!,MAIM,BLEED...chuckle....................Medpack!.. *respawn*
Comm: Argh! Nubs! I quit.

I swear. It´s like they are working together.

Actually, I haven't played marines in a few days. Something about having to depend on other people that pisses me off. When I die as aliens, I have only myself to blame.

happens to me on a regular basis, mainly on ns_nothing, ill be hiding out in cargo bay waiting to get some help... and in comes a resource tower. and they expect me to build that thing?

No, your commander, like so many others, is an idiot.

Don't take it personally.

Unless I know the marine I am droping to is very compitent and has been sitting there for a bit without an attack, I will never, ever drop anything to a single marine. If the marine has proven he's got "elite" skillz and can kill skulks effectivly, I may drop things to him while he's alone, but never, never to a single marine in other conditions unless I am trying to secure hives.

I've got the exact opposite problem. Just commed a game on Tanith where a marine gets into Sat hive, and shouts "Hey, guess what, I'm in Sat and it's clear."

So what do I do? I put down a res node as we're having trouble keeping Reactor Room.

The immediate reaction from him? "No, don't do that comm, I'm parasi.. *CHOMPCHOMP* ... die"

Happened to me the other night, I'm happily camping in the Fusion hive (their only hive), making green stains all over the place each time a skulk pops out, and the comm dropped a pg next to me. Ever tried shooting skulks over a phase gate? Chomp.

me: "ok commander im at [key location that can change the tide of the battle] BUT there are still skulks around me. Do not...I REPEAT do NOT drop anything till i give an all clear."
comm: "ok let me know when. Oh your at 99 health heres a health pack"
...skulks commence the 10 on 1.
Just remember you are not paranoid if they really are out to get you.

What I hate, is when you and some other Marines secure something like a hive, something very very important. And then...the comm drops a node and dosent do anything else till you build it!

I just dont get it, you drop a PG first and ppl have a chance to defend, you drop a node first and you have a 50/50 shot at losing 22 res for it.

I've seen it even worse though, the comm will drop a node AND a TF, then put up a turret or two, THEN put down a PG. The last time a comm did this to me (which he proceeded to do about 3 times that game), we ended up with a whopping 0 hives because no reinforcments came.

I wont even go into how many times I've had a Comm who refused to use PG's, instead he insisted we just walk to the location. I actually had a comm once, who secured a hive, then insisted we walk there instead of use a PG. Seriously, I just don't get why.

Note to Comms: I know you want those res, but for the love of God don't be a **** and drop a node first when your trying to secure a hive!!! PG's are your friend!
