The Annoying Thing About Ns

**** suggestions!
Ok, heres how i see NS.
Marine team- err WTH! That skulk couldnt have killed me! I had armor level 1! Make skulks weaker dev team!
Alien team- err WTH! the have jp/hmg already? Make it cost more this aint fair!
My point here is that people are extremley biased about their points of view. People like Terr who constantly critisicse ideas are doing a very good job for the community. You see, whenever someone loses to something they think they would beat (like a gorge) and they dont, they think 'It cant be MY fault! That species should be made weaker!' Its a noone wants to blame themselves situation (I get killed alot by gorges, just cant seem to hit them).
Hence we get ideas like webs being cut by knife and make onos easier to kill, in the suggestions and ideas forum.
People clearly lack the tolerance to accept defeat so will accuse others of cheating. On a server i played on once, i was aliens and we did a skulk rush (12vs12 game) we ran in and owned the whole mairne team, i made 5 of the 11 kills. I was accused of cheating when there happened to be an admin on the other team, who clearly couldnt believe it either. So I was banned. Another example of not blaming ones self for ones lack of skill.
When i get killed many times by a certain person (Aries [if she uses the forums] being one of those people) it frustrates me, but not to the point where i personally insult them or accuse them of cheating. It is easy to tell when there is a cheater. E.G - a marine has gone rambo, he has no upgrades but has an hmg, he is rushed by 5 skulks. He kills all of them at relativley the same time. You can tell he has cheated because unless those skulks were neatly lined up for him, it wouldnt be possible without an aimbot or similar script.
I want everyone who posts here to talk about an experience where they lost and were frustrated about it.
hmm, i've created an accuseaholics help group.

The way to avoid this problem? Play on servers where you're known, and the admins are themselves good.
(/me curses the names of AngryMonkey & Blaskawitz, damn you both. )
he had my cd-key, and now, because he has hacks, i can't play CS...ever again. not that it's much of a loss, but it's still a loss, and(by rules of the thread) my fault, because i gave him my cd key.
i have been accused of hacking, it is offending/praise at the the same time....a Gorge verses 2 jp+hmg... in ventelation hive fill of OC's.... and low and behold, i health spray killed them!.... that's what i get for trying to heal my buildings.
i have been acused of hacking, when i actually was... which makes you think "ok, time to delete this peice of junk, it's not worth getting banned over"... 4 deletes, and 3 formats later, i can say that i am the worst, hack-free player online.
sometimes when i'm just "on" i get acused of hacking, i say "nope, no hacks, these crappy skillz of mine are 100% real"
being crap isnt something to sound too happy about.
Wrong. At the start of the game, 5 skulks ran at me on caged just as I exited the marine start alone. I killed 4 skulks with one LMG clip and the other one with my pistol. It's very possible for this to happen without cheats. You're the one complaining about being called a cheat, so don't go and call other's cheats based on this flawed reasoning.
Really, in NS you don't have to worry about cheaters. It's a team game with cone firing and built-in visibility through walls. Plus, it can only make you better at the game while making the cheater worse.

Thinking like this is what got the HL community into the state its in in the first place, you sound exactly like the people you are complaining about.
Unbelievable things happen, wether through luck, skill, or something you don't fully understand. You can never conclude anything from an exceptional performance. I've been kicked for dropping 5 skulks with an LMG/Pistol/Knife, these things happen. There are known cheats for NS, and there may be many we don't know about, but what gives away a cheater is not an exceptional performance. Its the little clues that have nothing to do with how well they kill the opposing side. If you don't understand how the available cheats work, or what little characteristics can give them away, then you can never conclusively label anyone a cheater.
If you don't know the difference between wall running, a speed hack and a circle strafe jump, you better be careful with that rcon.
<Edit> 2 people beat me to it, h00rj for the internet.
I have even been accused of cheating, never have cheated online and i absolutely hate exploits. But in the end it all comes down to the occasional bit of skill and a bit of luck, and i reckon that damn Murphy and his law has a lot to do with it..
If you have ever rushed a single marine, how many times have you all run up to him in his line of fire?
I used to play CS alot, and this example (many more kills than you would ever expect any human to get in x amount of time [i said they all die at pretty much the same time, meaning they all recieved damage the same second]) is a good way to be called a cheater (and most who did this were PROVEN cheaters so ), but as was said, you can never really tell unless you get solid evidence thru first person spectating.
thing is, at 1600x1200 resolution running at 72fps there aint much that i dont see, the lerk/skulk bite model is so fast and tidy you dont even notice it, and if you circle strafe to the left the mariens will loose you in the muzzel flash.
all cheating talk stops when i go marine though, im just so poor with guns
Come on, dev team, is that too much to ask?

This will be added to NS 1.1, to go along with other styles of gameplay. So: 'Public' Mode, 'Tournament' Mode, 'WTH M3H SPL33N!!!' Mode.
Carry on...
:O
Numbah One:
The JP/HMG rush *is* broken. You can't get up a second Hive (where all the EFFECTIVE anti-JP weapons are) before the teamful of JP/HMG jetbos are buzzing around and killing your single Hive. Power of the collective Marine RP pool, and the Recycle ability (to make it go even faster). It's going to be corrected in v1.1.
Skulks have to get up in your face to do damage. Marines are also supposed to be travelling in teams, not lone rambo bouncing-around-like-a-ferret-on-crack-having-an-epileptic-seizure players. It only takes seven bullets to kill a Skulk, without Carapace or weapon upgrades.
Numbah Two:
Circle-strafe-jumping (limited bunnyhopping) and wallrunning, as far as I know, are still considered exploits. At the very least, bunnyhopping/backward-bouncing will also be fixed in v1.1. Hopefully the midair Marine-bite sending them flying backward will be removed as well... REALLY annoying to bite someone once, and have them end up across the room where they can blast me easily. All because I bit them in the midst of a crack-bounce, having anticipated their spastic behaviour.
