How Was This Game Named?

I was wondering how the name Natural Selection came to this game. Does it have to do with Darwin's theory? I'm assuming that the title seems to revolve around the Kharra, because they evolve. Obviously, the game is more focused on the Kharra than the Frontiersmen.

Yep, it's about Darwin's theory of natural selection. Survival of the fittest, man.

Read the story to understand more. It's a conflict of man versus alien, a struggle to survive in the vacuum of space. Only the fittest will survive, will nature select the physically inferior humans for extinction? Or will they crush the alien threat with their collective might?

Your battles against the kharaa will decide the future of humanity...

yea, for humans, we need guns and some other foreign objects to make us formidable, but look at the aliens, they evolved attack claws and mouths, so yes, GDI we are inferior.

And the aliens evolve to become more powerful to defeat the invaders so they can live.... see... circle of life.

And humans "adapt" to the threat by making deadlier guns to shoot things with.

The only problem with that is that according to the story humanity is not in any danger at all, after aproximatly 956,653,346,643,732,000,000 marines die, the TSA would dissolve and the real army would nuke every infested base/ship in the universe and live happily ever after.
