Muzzle Flash Question

May have been posted before, but read
Ok... for the whole muzzle flash debate, here's what I don't get. You'd think in such an advanced human civilization, we'd have flash surpressors on the gun, just like we do in a modern military today. Now I can understand that the NS team put in the muzzle flash for game balance, just like the skulk teeth, but how come the HMG has a smaller muzzle flash than the LMG? It has an extra barrel and probably fires a much more powerful cartridge, yet it has a tinier muzzle flash?

The phrase you're looking for is "suspension of disbelief."

Yeah, but what about the HMG being a more powerful weapon with a smaller muzzle flash?

A LMG is free, an HMG costs 25 res... i'd want some advantages.

C'mon, the LMG's are free...We all know that freeware is useless... Nah, the LMG would be far more desirable if the muzzle flash was smaller. The muzzle flash doesn't even bother me.
The muzzle flash adds immensely to the game's visual atmosphere.

To answer your question, the reason there is a muzzle flash is because it's space muzzle flash!

There, the 'in-game' answer is given. Let's all go home now.

I think you must mean "nano muzzle flash."

Nanobots can be used to patch up any halflife engine limitation, gameplay mechanic, mod bug, or game balance decision.

    They're like duct tape.

    Only smaller.

why is the muzzleflash being debated at all? i mean, WTH? i haven't even noticed it until someone mentioned it, and even then, i didn't notice it in-game. i recommend playing a tiny bit more... hell, i barely even notice the skulk's teeth anymore

This topic has been talked to death.

Flayra has already said that the muzzle flash is going to be changed in 1.1. I suggest threads like this are locked from here on out. Theres a rather large thread that talks about the different changes in 1.1. EVERYONE already knows that you guys don't like the muzzle flash.

I got no problem anymore with the skulk teeth or the muzzle flash, u tend to lose some of the little buggers but not all that often.
Maybe the HMG muzzle flash is bigger but because the gun is so long it is in the distance therefore appears smaller... hehe almost sounded like i knew wat i was talking about there.

I think having a big muzzle flash is better! And the teeth! Its like the AVP2 head bite camera, where the teeth come foreard and bit the head off.

It is important to note that when playing without the muzzle flash your accuracy is increased emmensly. It is hard not to miss anything. It has a lot to say. Somethimes my game flucks and the muzzle flash is turned of untill I exit HL. You can not imagine the difference.
