<div class="IPBDescription">Hl engine</div>jepp crancked together the latest version for shipment to badmofo so here is some early abit crappy shoots i made in an model viewer that uses the same engine as hl.
i changed alot to the interior as badmofo wanted another floor and more matching walls.
dont foget to give creds to badmofo for the pod design and modelling i yust modelled the crappy seats and skinned this baby.
not that bad for my second attempt at making an hl modell but long way to go to get to corys quality. <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->

    Looks spanking.

My only concern is that the inside might not look so good in-game, due to HLs way of lighting models...I guess you'll just have to try and see!

    Looks great!

I've been wondering something though... Is it possible to actually walk into that model (or any model) ingame? I mean... how much of that inside detail are you actually going to see? Even if you can walk into the model and stand on the bottom level... are you going to see the rest?

It makes sense to me to only detail the bottom level, if that's all you're going to be able to see (considering the door is open).

On the other hand, if it is possible to wander into the model and get up on the other floors... Nevermind me then. <!--emo&;)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'><!--endemo-->

Awesome. Simply Awesome. Really cool stuff. I love how the outside shows the wear and tear of planetary entry while the inside is protected as befits a drop-pod.

i really dont like those seats for some reason, they dont look like they fit in at all. the model looks good, and yeah, i was also wondering if you can get up to the top levels in-game, because you can clip the model of course, but then bob cant climb on it.

actually so is this the starting position for the marines some start on the top floor and some on the bottom.
badmofo had in mind to script some nice stuff with smoke and noise so that it appears when the game starts for the marines yust as if they yust have touched down.
so actually will you not see much of the pods inside after the game starts yust out fast and smash some aliens.
and iam starting to not like the interior so much now so yust hope that it will be dark ingame. <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->
this pod is yust supposed to look cool ingame like an plant at the window in your apartment. <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->
the pod is only maybe 3% of the map.
thanks every one for the feedback.:)

i also think that you will see every polygon of the pod,Ken, i don't know the engine so well, but i think polys will be seen <!--emo&:(--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':('><!--endemo--> the models aren't VIS processed(?)

i actually sharpened the interior texture and floor texture abit today.
so now do they look abit less blurry.
and lowered the seatbelts abit to look less weird.
and made the seats fit in better colour wise abit more.
but i belive it will be some dampered lights inside so that the player wiull probably not see that much anyway of it.
but you will have to wait untill badmofo makes the latest compile of the map that he is going to do today to see how it looks ingame as i belive he will post some screenies as soon as he have done so.
But its an huge map takes ages to compile. <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->
Its hard to get the interior tex detailed as the whole interior texture inside on both the floors is one texture that is 256x256.
because i couldt do it anyway else as the whole wall sections was one cylinder stretched out on the model.
so i couldt divide the model height wise to get an more detailed interior. <!--emo&:(--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':('><!--endemo-->
