Pc Gaming...

Games are rushed too often
It seems nowadays PC games are rushed, especially hyped up or popular titles.
The developers are always being pushed to meet a deadline, and 90% of the time the product that goes onto the market has barely had any beta testing. You would think they would just wait another month, so they wont get bad reviews on the game....

The SNES rocked, pfft. Give me a SNES over N64/PS/PS2/GC any day. Chrono Trigger and Zelda baby
And yes, Chrono Trigger and Zelda were awesome ;)
and many others baldurs gate diablo yadayadayydyada
yeah well most of these so called "beta tests" are always opportunitys for little hicks wanting to get their smuffy little mitts all over and just play the hell out of the game before anyone else plays it.
well enuff of that.
I have no complaint over the pc games of today i think they;re fine
Did Super mario or uh the very first zelda need public beta Testing, no they're fine. You just gotta have some more faith if the games suck and frankly i don't think they suck.
Games should be Playable out of the box... Crashes are to be expected on some hardware configs but bugs in the game engine itself are unacceptable...
You can wait... But i think you need a life outside of gaming first man.

Texturing

Massive 3d levels

Sound (actors)

I could go on but...

I think u get my point
Also, most sports games suck.
Through warforge I've been managing to play the war3 frozen throne beta...and let me tell you, this is what warcraft 3 should have been in the first place.
Then again, if I was a bunch of greedy ****, I'd release a half assed game and then immediately follow up with a $40 expansion as well. Of course they're going to buy it, why keep the initially released (and shallow excuse for a game) when for just $40 more you can have a real game that is actually FUN to play! Hoo-ha!
I love some of the quotes from the fat man and his illigitimate stepchild Gfrazier from the days before anyone knew about the expansion,
"Depending on the response from our fans, we may or may not consider an expansion for warcraft 3..."
Yeah right fat man, and pigs are going to start flying out of my ****
The only company that does that is EA.
And you cant know if all this "new crap" is bad or not unless you beta test it... And nowadays games dont get much time in beta testing anyway.

Lets not forget Metroid and F-Zero on the SNES.
/me hugs the lonely Metroid Cart
For once I can use the sims as an example. The Sims was something new that no one else had done. In fact Maxis tend to be much more adventerous in there games. (Sim Ant anyone?) And it also seems that one of the greatest genres of game has died.
The Humorous adventure. Take Sam And Max or Escape From Monkey Island or even something like Beavis And Butthead In Virtual Stupidity (Which I got and almost ruptured something during playing. "NAD BURNS!") Graphicswise they didn't look amazing but they didn't need to be. They had HUMOR! Something which almost no games are built on. Sure some games have funny bits but they aren't based on humor like Sam And Max was. Someone In PCGamer UK put it the best way.

Why on earth aren't people making this type of game any more? Why are we instead being passed off with "games with a sense of humor"? Well, the reason lies in the death of narrative. And the guilt lies squarely at our feet. We the average gamer have asked for more of the wrong things.
