in some servers
I wonder if anyone has the solution to this file consistency message I get when going into some servers. I really like my custom skins and sounds and I dont think it isnt cheating of any sort, Is there a parameter i can change or add in the ns folder for me to override this message?

wouldn't that kind of negate the purpose of file consistency?

Whoa jeez don;'t have to get all trigger happy for no reason.
Just tell him there are no parameters to overide it (wow that sounded cool just saying that) (hehe overide)

no need to ban this guy just like that

No you cant, just play on servers without consistency. Its mostly lower caliber servers that force it.

    It's idiocy to force it

use ASE and make afilter that filters it out:)

I had a problem a while back where file consistency was kicking in even though my models/skins were the same... grrr.

File Consistency would be helpful only in clan games, who gives a damn if your models glow like lava?

*maybe everyone else trying to enjoy a fair game*

It really depends on the server. The majority of clan run servers have consistancy on because we like the original stuff. We play with it often. It's just what we like. Most non clan servers tend to have it off or on just depending on the admin. They are only pub players normally and most wont care enough about the possible "cheats" that come from changed models.

Hmm. Considering file consistency was put in specifically to stop the use of custom skins/models on given servers, d'you really think there would be a client-side option to turn checking off?
In short, no, there isn't. However, there is a server-side variable that shows up on ASE for file consistency. Just make a filter-rule to only list servers that do not force file consistency.

And that older file-consist error was likely the shell.mdl problem. Just apply the latest server patch to get the proper shell.mdl.. been known for a while now.

I would like to see more servers using the model consistency.

File Consistency is enforced on nano...and the server is full, so, go figure
