Keyboard Layout Help Me Plz

<div class="IPBDescription">...</div> i love all the artwork that has been on this forum and i was wondering if some one can help me i can mimmic things drawing and painting but can never design them myself im an engineer not an artist.
i have created my first prototype of the natural selection keyboard (i will post pics of it when its fully complete) now here comes my problem ive used the carcass of an old keyboard cut all the plastic out and mounted a piece of wood on to it to place all my new buttons (its amazing how expensive this is to do.) and as you could imagine a brown piece of wood on the front of a keyboard is not exciting to look at.
like i said im crap at designing artwork though so would some one be able to work round this layout of my keyboard and design something for me.
for background and inspiration :
the grey keys are common the blue are commander mode keys and the green are evolve buttons for the aliens
my first idea was to have three styles merging from one side to the other but i failed <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo--> i hope some one can do better.
i want 2 designs hopefully one simplicistic with just with a few bits on and a full on paint everything possible one lol.

here is the layout sorry its noot perfectly to scale but its only a rough idea would have took me ages to drwaw to scale.
