    yes, but i cant import smd on 3dsmax, only export.

    duh,export it to obj or AutoDesk 3ds and in max file>import>whateverformat you choosed

    yes, but if i make this i dont have the bones, only de model without bones... i need the bones to animate it

    As far as I can tell, the bones are preserved when exporting to .3ds. Because I exported to 3ds saved it, then exported back to milkshape, and the bones were still there. I think the problem is, I just don't know how to get the bones to show up, or maybe 3ds just uses a new system now. I don't know...

    There is a Max script for importing for SMD's

    i could not find the web page but here is the scrip file

    instal it to
    C:\3dsmax4\scripts\startup

    to run it goto utilities MaxScript then selct the script in the tab thing
    you can then import smd referance and animation files

    is there something i'm doing wrong?


    i've got max 4.2, and i'm just hitting Maxscripts pulldown menu from up top (wehre file, edit, tools is....) then selection run script... and selecting SMDImporter.ms

    is there a step i'm missing?
