when do we have news about our map?
Yes, i submitted my map and i never heard something about it... i even wrote a email to flayra but no answer.
I just would like to know if im the only one or if that is normal. When im not in, just say it, would be easyer for me to concentrate my work on my new map...

    We are the devs.
    Your maps will be assimilated.
    Resistance is furtile.

Devs are a busy species working for a huge ammount of ppl that want them something to do.
Bet they just have their priorities.

I'd say just wait. Evidently they want to suprize us with all the changes coming in 1.1, including new maps. Obviously if your map made it, everyone would know by now and the suprize would be ruined

Keep in mind that Flayra is AFK all this week at the Game Developer's Conference in San Jose, CA. I think he might have driven cross country since he'll be unavailable until Monday at the earliest.

A lot of Natural Selection related items are probably on hold while he's making connections in the professional community and getting other developers' perspectives and advice on how to make games. Having waited several months to know map submission status in the past, I definitely understand your wanting to know learn your map's status ASAP. That said, a little more time shouldn't hurt.

I have a feeling NS has caught the eyes of at least a few professional developers. This is a very advanced mod, after all, it's the first real revolutionary mod for Half Life... YOU CAN BUILD STUFF.

It's difficult to know more than a few weeks ahead when something is going to pass QA, and if the team is like me, they won't want to commit to a date before they know they can meet it.

My work on the tools has been more of a seat-of-the-pants process than I would allow on a professional project--NS is being handled in a very structured manner, which makes for better results when you scale up the size of a dev team. Although it's frustrating to not have a date, it does mean that the mod doesn't have pressure to release something before it's ready--I'm also guessing that the experience of the 1.0 release will result in some refinements to testing procedures--I don't think there will be a flurry of server patches accompanying 1.1 like we saw with 1.0.
