Poor Marines

<div class="IPBDescription">Clan matches</div> The marines will be ALOT more poor in clan marches, bcuz the FF 1. With these turrets who cant hit a ****, how should they hit s good clan guy. This isnt like that for the aliens bcuz they dont need to have a TF near the OC's <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo--> The "bad" turrets should be fixed so they just hit a little better in clan matches and normal games.

    If you've ever been in a clan match, you'd know that aliens have it worse on the FF than marines. Hell, bullets don't hurt at all. And turrets............?

    well FF changes everything, and this must be where the "marines always win clan matches" thing comes from. sheesh, FF changes the game so radically i wish it would stay on all of the time so palyers can learn to use it.

    was in a clan practice the other day and some OT's took out our own hive, trying to shoot the jetbo.

    Yeah, it would be nice to see the Off. chambers have enough intelligence to not shoot the hive.     look at me. I just spent 150 res locking down subspace like a fortress!! they will never get in there....... WTH? What do you mean there is 3 hives on this map? What do you mean they got the second hive up while I locked down subspace? What?!! you want upgrades now? Wouldn't you rather hold this hive? omg they are coming to base with umbra/acidrocket. We don't have the money for GL's you nubs!! I need to secure the base with a TF. OMG why didnt i do that right after the IP!

    Sounds like some people haven't heard of the infamous turret rush. Build about 6 turrets in base, equip them with some cannons and heavy lasers, upgrade the walk ability, have the marines hop in, and DESTROY! Just gotta be careful about the lasers, there's not enough room for heat sinks...and let's not get started about acid rockets in the munition storage in the shoulders.

    Yes, FF makes mines a pain! Oh, you wanna place mines around that phase gate? SUICIDE RUSH...the mines end up killing the phase. I hate FF mode, I wish Tourny mode had some REAL changes in it, instead of just sticking in FF and calling it a day. At least 80% of my comm strats don't work in tourny mode, leaving me with basicly...JP rush, and then aliens complain about that, what else IS there?

    Skulks have a wide bite area, when more than 1 skulk attacks a building in tournement mode, it is common for skulks to chomp each other. If 2 skulks attempt to jump ontop of a phase and bite it, they will bite eachother, each knocking the other off the phase and allowing marines to run through. If 2 skulks are biting a building from opposite sides (So as to avoid biting eachother) they will still chomp eachother at the moment the building is destroyed.

    FF is at 33%, the damage output of a skulk bite is so high that this figure is still very significant for skulks, but ensures a few bullets into the back of a marines head do little damage. Marines also have a much easier time avoiding killing eachother, because they do not have to push into melee range. Only shotguns and HMGs are a significant FF risk to marines.

    The 33% figure also applies to mines unless they are triggered by a fade. Because of this, the damage dealt by mines to buildings when a skulk triggers them is minimal. There is no problem with mining phase gates.

    We get alot more alien teamkills than marine teamkills.

    Most team kills i've seen come from spam happy fades, wacking an entire volley of rockets into a teammate by accident, overenthaustic 'cover' fire from a marine with a HMG or skulks chomping on something together.

    Particulary that last one. Fades can get away with a couple of 25 - 26 damage bites/swings. Skulks can't however.

    Ever owned half your own team on a skulk rush cos the bite hitbox is wider than the viewport let alone the bite viewmodel?

    The best is when you have a skulk on top of another skulk running around. The bottom one starts biting and the one on top gets really **** off. Man, I got yell at for that one lol.

    Actually, it would be really nice if you had a way (audible maybe) to tell if you were hurting your teammate. Esp as a skulk, it's hard to tell exactly what you're hitting. Multiple skulks biting a res tower usually just end up hitting each other instead.

    Forget turrets, where the real FF damage comes from is when 1) a jetpacker plops down in front of someone firing an hmg or 2) someone spams grenades, and forgets about their poor teammates out there fighting.

    The reduced FF damage from an hmg still really hurts.

    lol, once on tanith, we were at the doors to cargo. All 4 of us lined up, 2 behind 2, , I had a shotty in the front, and I was crouched. Suddenly the door opens as a skulk comes through, guess what happens next
