Very unpleasent bunch to play with. Racist comments, disruptive behavior, and generally not too bright people.

RedShadow was the worst. He was being disruptive by typing racist remarks throughout the game. We told him to stop and he only became more disruptive. He didn't seem to know what 'racist' meant and his clan didn't do much to stop him.

ok. contact the server you had the problem on. it's called sv_contact. Seriously. I see no proof, and one screenshot isn't going to get the whole clan banned, especially considering that I don't even know who you are. It also ain't gonna get the whole clan banned, cause a screenshot doesn't show everything that was said (i.e. did you goad them into calling you names?). I'm not saying it's ever acceptable to call someone a racist name, but really, some words that are traditionally used as cursewords are being adopted by certain minorities as "racial slurs" and then anyone who says them is "keeping them down". Go ahead Ruhamah and tell me that you'll ban anyone that curses, but I won't. I like to think that the people on my server (whenever that happens, though rarely) are mature adults. If they aren't they can gtfo and find a disney server.

First off, most servers get high traffic almost all times of the day.

But anyways, If you got large amounts of people during almost all the time, what would be the point in allowing a racist group of people on to your server only to offend people? Why not save those slots they would be wasting for more mature and civil people ?

I'm sorry, but I don't see a problem with letting a racist use my server, as long as they aren't pushing their views on the players (i.e. how would you ever know they were a racist?). If they aren't offending people and are just playing the game, then who am I to judge? It seems everyone believes in equal rights, but anyone who is racist doesn't deserve those rights. I've even heard some people lately say that racists aren't american.

Any server that doesn't have sv_contact defined is obviously run by a moron, considering the developer of the game has even posted that they should all have it defined.

Finally, I'll reiterate the point that the screenshot doesn't prove anything. Noone (outside of the people who were in the server at the time) knows exactly what happened, and hence has no idea what instigated the "racist comment" that Fantasmo saw. No clan deserves to be banned from all servers due to one racist comment.

Errr, I thought they were only being banned from servers that use this banlist? Isn't it those ops' right to choose just as much as yours?

I'm mentally debating on commenting on the fact that racism should be a bannable offense - there's never any good reason to throw that sort of talk around anymore than the use of the word '****' constantly. I personally think it ought to be bannable if you're running a respectable server. However, if people don't consider that a criteria, oh well. It's their box, just like you were saying.

I don't have a problem with people swearing on my server, but any form of racism and you will be off immediately.

The way I see it, server admins will run their servers how they please. The measure of how good they are as admins is the regular "client" base they build up. If you see a server where there's never the same person on twice, chances are it's poorly adminned, avoid it.

Duck, as a member of NSAF racisism falls under the Zero-tolerance policy. Thats what our ban list is based on.

Althought we take caution is "BAN HIM!" posts, Members of ragers are instantly banned. On my server racistm is just a 60 minute ban anyway. 2nd offense is perma ban. But you cannot ban "because he's a racists" from the forums because there just isn't proof. The admin could have said "Could someone plz test my word filter?" some dude said a word and got banned. Its easy to manipulate logs and the evidence w/o actually modifying them.

Duck, i strongly encourage you install our banlist software sot hat you do not have to worry about these certian posts.

And as MonsieurEvil, there is no reason to say racist remarks.

On my server a racist remark will get you a perma ban. No discussion, nothing.

What the hell is sv_contact? I've had a handfull of good, successfull CS and NS servers for a long time and I've never herd of it.

it allows you to put your ICQ/MSN/YAHOO etc and e-mail addy or telephone number, whatever contact details you want to give. Clients (and people watching in All Seeing Eye and similar programs) can then see the details and contact you if anything goes wrong with the server <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'>

I agree entirely. My whole thing is, a clan isn't what everyone seems to believe it is. I cannot control the behavior of any of my members. All I can do is kick them from the clan. Banning an entire clan for one member's ignorance is just as ignorant. Complain to the clan leader. If nothing is done, deal with it accordingly. Don't let this mod get as pathetic as frontline force.
